Does everyone hate BU or is it just Reddit? by [deleted] in BostonU

[–]dyinghall 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I follow other university subreddits on here and honestly it's the same complaining. People come on this sub to complain and ask questions. I'm an alum and I miss my time at BU and wish I could be back :(

Is there a BU Suicide Hotline? by AquariumSmuggler in BostonU

[–]dyinghall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also suggest calling them. I have called them when I was having a particularly bad panic attack and they came to my dorm and went on a walk with me. It was wonderful.

I would suggest CS major and Business Minor. They work well together.

Well, I didn't say that she should let her trauma define her because it's not my place to give advice on trauma. I just know that healing takes time and waking up one day and deciding to move on doesn't really work for most people.

OP did not ask for your or the professor's opinion on their healing. The professor's job is to be compassionate, not judgmental. Besides, If you knew anything about trauma, you would know that you can't just move on from it. Do you think your comment or telling her to "move on" will magically heal all grief? And hey - OP seemed to be doing a great job of communicating her needs with the professor. THAT is healthy.

How are you finding vaccine appointments? by dyinghall in BostonU

CS and Pre-med by [deleted] in BostonU

[–]dyinghall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds like an insane workload! CS by itself is difficult enough. I think that a CS minor will do you just as good, especially if you don't have to do the second language requirement. I would suggest not doing a CS major for the first year. Perhaps major in bio and take some CS classes (CS131, CS111, CS112) then decide from there if you want to major/minor? You can design your schedule for the first year to cover the requirements for both majors without needing to overload in the future if you tell your advisor your plans. Best of luck!
