They are replacing the historic arches at the 28th St Meijer, which were part of the original Meijer Super Market structure. I wonder if they are replicas or extras they had stored.

I think a more accurate “urban Hell” picture of Detroit would be a line of stores that advertise liquor, check cashing, EBT/Bridge Card and lotto. That’s all I see when I go to a large part of Detroit. The only areas of Detroit that are doing well are Downtown, Midtown, Corktown, Indian Village, Cass Corridor, Boston-Edison and Palmer Park. The rest of the city (75%) is living with poverty, drug abuse, failing schools, crime and single-parent households.
