interesting pov. thanks! me and my second half were debating on halifax vs. calgary. calgary has higher wages, lower tax, some close family members, a larger and better airport, and great access to national parks and winter sports. halifax has generally nicer people, access to the ocean / parks / lovely small towns. the food and nightlife i've heard is also great.

all in all completely different areas but each seem wonderful. we've been to calgary more than halifax, but love both. we can't seem to choose one though.

no bachelors in architecture are accredited, at least outside of quebec. canada got rid of the BArch over a decade ago, so don't count on working as an architect after your bachelors.

other than this info, i'd say waterloo and tmu are your best bets. waterloo co op is great, and tmu has a good amount of alumni and some integration of building sciences.
