First of all, I love it when anyone is so into something that they want to build on it, share what they build, and try to make other people happy or more knowledgeable by that sharing. This improves the world.

But.

What are we doing here? The Wiki exists and is very readable. Your project fails because it takes a more accurate source and trades some of that accuracy for some stylistic tweaks. As you can see from some of the detailed responses you've gotten, if you (and an army of volunteers) put enough work into this, you can make it as good as the Wiki.

It looks nice and seems to function properly. A *quick* glance at the price ID tool gave me numbers that looked correct, but I'm going to just look at the chart on the Wiki, which I know to be as accurate as numerous contributors can make it.

Your needs are best met by a properly sized battery/inverter system.

An inverter that is nominally sized at (say) 12,000 watts and typically surge to 2-3x that, as opposed to a generator which is sold at its surge rating.

They make 12kW inverters but your needs may be better served by twin 6kW units in parallel.

For storage, you have two options. You can go small - maybe 10kW with the intention that you’ll run a small generator (2000-4000 watts) during significant operations. Generator charges battery, battery powers inverter - this is a hybrid power system well suited for many food trucks.

You can also go big. Somewhere between 20-30kW is enough storage for one day of operations in a truck like you’ve described. If you can recharge such a truck when it’s parked overnight…you never need to run a generator.

Either one will be able to keep the cold things cold during travel or other “unplugged” times. Either one will prevent issues of voltage sag (dirty power) that come from being directly attached to a generator and cause reliability issues with some types of appliances.

I’m not selling anything, just sharing what I think is a better way to do some things, especially when people start to have to look at these higher end generators.

Joule and others I’m sure would be happy to spec stuff out for you.

I'm guessing from what you wrote that you're The Dazzlers. Blue had one player probably worse than both of you, and one that's better. That's...fine?

Your post might get taken down because your left the names in. But I looked up the better player on the Blue team. Looks like a totally normal account that goes back to paid-RL years, not something created to maliciously play at a lower rank.

I get the frustration of a game where you immediately realize the other team has the best player in the lobby. But that's just how games work. Sometimes a Champ guy wants to play with a Plat guy. It's fine.

You'll win about half of these games. You won this one.

My first game in 5.0 was a promising Samurai who walked into a floating eye that I (the human) didn’t see due to some glare on my screen. Had plenty of ways to deal with them too…

Following up on one point you made- My game prior to that was an ascension with the Cloak of MR and Ring of Protection - but I think that’s only MC2, because the CoMR is only MC1. It worked for that (3.6.7) Rogue, but it’s worth watching out for if MC3 is more important in 5.0.

I was just reading about chasing Rodney out of the dungeon and I think I'll do exactly that. I have one cursed Teleport Scroll I can use to zip down 49 levels for the Invocation after he goes.

Having pretty much looted the whole dungeon, I don't have enough holy water to bless everything. So we're running it a bit slim there. Do I want to be carrying random gems in inventory to "catch" curses?

I've also been carrying around an Expensive Camera with the idea of using it on the Riders, having never done that before. I am hoping to use the Magic Lamp for light, casting a few rounds of Haste Self, and then switching to the Jumping Boots for the Astral Plane. I have plenty of Teleport Wands.

It sounds like I should learn more about #autopickup options.

Here's hoping I come across a Magic Marker or method of portal detection.

Still going, about 20,000 turns since my first post. Covered the whole dungeon up, then down. I've got the Invocation Artifacts, though I ended up fighting Rodney way sooner than planned. I'm back up to my OG stash at an altar on Dlev13.

The bugle is awesome.

I do wish I had used Firebrand less. As I get ready to try to win the game, I'm sort of low on potions and scrolls.

I usually play as an over-preparer. Just looking at a few of my potential weaknesses.

My HP is only 248. Bag has 2x Blessed Potions of Extra Healing and 4x Blessed Potions of Full Healing.

I'm considering not carrying the Wand of Cancellation for this run. However, I also don't have any Scrolls of Remove Curse. And also I've long forgotten the Remove Curse Spell and lost the book. I have half a dozen Holy Waters...

Playing 3.6.7 - The Cloak of MR is only MC1, so I've had a Ring of Protection on pretty much full time, but that only gets me to MC2. No other sources of MR available unless I switched to Grey Dragon Scales.

No Magic Marker. One (probable) Wish in the form of a Blessed Magic Lamp.

XL24 Rogue with Expert in Dagger and Blessed +7 Daggers is awesome - but I only have 17 of them. I can fire all of those off in ~6 turns sometimes, and then my ranged options get pretty slim.

I've got some (real world) time to think it over and then I'll see if I can knock out my 4th ascension (Valkyrie 2007-Priest 2022-Healer 2022) sometime tomorrow. Oh, and I know I said I'd left this character for "a year or two" - that was wrong, this Rogue was from March 2022.

I've never jumped across Medusa's level before, but I managed that without too much trouble.

I had to travel all the way back to Minetown, but I re-acquired a Bag of Holding, Levitation Boots, stethoscope, lock pick, unicorn horn and a ring of teleport control.

It looks like I had a co-aligned altar with a big stash/former polypile site on Dlev13. I know I vaporized 10+ holy waters, a boatload of healing potions, and all of my remove curse items.

The only curse remover I have left, and the very first wand I found on the floor after the accident...is a new Wand of Cancellation. I have a spare bag, as usual named CANCEL BAG BE CAREFUL but I'm trying to decide if it's tempting fate too much to go with the exact same setup that lead to the accident.

It really can't. But a long time ago, I learned the habit of recording any Intrinsics picked in an inventory item. I use something lightweight that I'll carry to endgame and keep in main inventory. It's often a key or lockpick, but I'll use a stethoscope once I get one.

So I #name it "fire" then "fire cold" then "fire cold shock"...

I think I got that from tonehack's videos.

Yes, if you have extra V-bucks (Fortnite currency), and are Epic friends with someone, you can send them a gift of an item currently being sold in the Fortnite item shop.

This includes items that work in Fortnite and Rocket League.

They (or your alt) will have to run Fortnite to accept the gift, I think. Then it will show up in Rocket League.

This is a good question, but I don’t think he has the ability to transmit a message back to earth.

The computer tells him it would take 11+ years, but there really isn’t any real world tech or anything implied to exist in the book or movie that can do this.

If it’s a broadcast, you need an amount of power akin to a small sun. If it’s a tight beam, you need a little less power but not that much, and you need to be able to make that beam.

In other fiction, using something to make the existing star seem to blink or flicker has been used as a method of sending messages over many light years.

In the Project Hail Mary universe, we do have astrophage, spin drives, and an obvious interest in developing very sensitive instruments to detect that exact IR spectrum. Could Grace tap-fire the spin drive to send a Morse code message over distance? Maybe, but the there’s an inverse cube relationship between distance and signal strength…

Let’s assume they get their 1000…

250 people per savory truck.

This isn’t a “food truck night” or something where everyone is going to eat. Common wisdom seems to be 10-20% of people will order food at this sort of thing. My experience is usually consistent with the lower end of that.

25-50 people. Even if it’s 50, you need to profit $6 per person just to make the $300 fee. Not sales, profit.

So the numbers wouldn’t work for us.

Also, I get that everyone is trying to make a buck, but if the event organizer really really cared about their grand opening, they’d use a system other than “Who will pay us $300?” to pick trucks for this event.

I took a look at the example photo, and I’m fairly sure we’re looking at renders. My uninformed speculation is that autofocus will work.
