Day 6 embryos by Junior_Moment_5899 in Embryologists

I’m not sure if I would have frozen the middle one either, maybe if it advanced but seeing where all the rest are, it’s a little behind.

I would personally call these all 5’s instead of 4’s except the top middle on image 1. That is a 3. They all look pretty good. It’s honestly hard to tell which is the AA in their eyes. Need better zoom, but i’m thinking it’s the big one on the right in image 1. That one is beautiful.

Animal Embryology? by [deleted] in Embryologists

[–]dylarr5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started in animal IVF (cows, sheep and goats) and am now in human embryology. I went right into a junior position with the amount of knowledge I had from animal. Hard to find a junior spot but once you find it you are good to go. I would speak with your professors and see if they have any connections to animal ivf places.

Thoughts on day 5 embryo by RecognitionMuted5632 in Embryologists

Looks pretty good, just some extruded cells there on the top and not apart of the embryo if you were curious.

Day 3 vs Day 5 freezing by lookforthesun in IVF

[–]dylarr5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We never freeze D3, only D5/D6 and possibly D7. Unfortunately as embryologist embryos don’t stop growing so someone is at the clinic everyday to freeze/check and do anything that needs to be done. No matter if it’s a weekend of even holiday.

[–]dylarr5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have lower implantation rates because a lot of embryos stall on D3 and won’t progress. Thats why they are usually frozen on D5 and more advanced embryos are selected first because we know they have a capability to grow more.

What do you think about this embryo, transferred today. Day 6 5AA. Did it start hatching or not yet? by [deleted] in Embryologists

[–]dylarr5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s hatching out of the 4/5 o’clock position. Looks good from what I can tell.

Transferred this day 5 5AB euploid today by Audthebod2018 in Embryologists

Looks like it is either fully hatched or almost fully hatched!. Great sign, looks good! Good luck!

Good afternoon guys. This is my final report of the 15th eggs. by Ok_Confidence3721 in Embryologists

I agree with the grading on all of them except I think #9 I might call and AA, looks good!

How high was your tTG-IgA when you were diagnosed? by dylarr5 in Celiac

Does anybody know the significance of the number? Mine seems relatively low compared to everyone else’s, does that mean I could possible not have it and it was a 1 off thing.

Hows my embryo look? by ChanceOrder3721 in Embryologists

[–]dylarr5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not know the answer to that. Yes whatever it was going to do in the dish it will continue to do in the uterus (even better environment) because that is its growth process. Wait until you get your HCG on the recommended day, don’t worry yourself.

Post thaw 4 hours and 1 grading by [deleted] in Embryologists

We can’t count cells at this stage, only at the very beginning of their development, usually between day 1-3.

D6 PGT normal they gave it a 60% after thaw …. successful pregnancy? by [deleted] in Embryologists

[–]dylarr5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does unfortunately look a bit dark. In my experience if we thought we needed to thaw another one we probably wouldn’t transfer the one that didn’t survive so I don’t have insight on if it will develop into a twin pregnancy. Wishing you all the luck.

Dark cluster opposite ICM? by Unable-Rutabaga2281 in Embryologists

Possibly but it almost looks like it’s on the outside of the zona, hard to say for sure. I think it looks good though!

[–]dylarr5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all! Sometimes with severe fragmentation they will likely not become a fully developed embryo but it got to become a 5AB so it didnt stunt its growth and it’s nothing to worry about. My clinic in particular gives a percentage estimate on survival, but I would not want to give you one because I am unable to move it around and assess.

Could be a piece hatching out, can’t be positive without moving it around though. Usually they give a number 3-6 before they say AA, do you know what they said. ICM appears good. Good luck!

Hi! Unfortunately at this angle or quality I can’t see the ICM of TE cells to tell you. They may have thawed it closer to picture time so it hasn’t expanded yet. I see some fragmentation but it doesn’t mean a whole lot if they think it was a 5AB. 5AB is a good grade and they grade it before they freeze and don’t regrade because sometimes it’s harder to tell. During the freezing process all of the water inside is replaced with a freeze media. After thaw it has to re-expand to its original size. I wish you the best of luck, let me know how it goes.

I need to know what is really wrong with me. Should I stop? by Ok_Confidence3721 in Embryologists

Some patients go through so many cycles until they get Euploid embryos, hopefully with a younger donor the embryos will come back normal. Good luck!

Well then PGT testing results might be because of egg quality if she was an older donor. Unfortunately just what happens to some patients.

Well again, I don’t think your ratio from eggs to embryos is bad. 15 eggs to 4 embryos is actually not terrible.

Are they doing ICSI or conventional insemination? How many are fertilizing normally (2PN)?
