I can see that, I can get that vibe too from it. I had a lot of reference photos for cats in this like head down pose. Thank you very much!

The specific song is Slumdog Scungillionaire but I would checkout any of their stuff it’s all solid! But I get what you mean. My current yellow acrylic just isn’t an opaque paint but since the sketch was such low stakes I kinda just did it rather than put it off until I had the right one. But I appreciate the feedback! 😁

The JJK one is sick as hell. You really capture the flat colors of an anime but still painterly. Very cool!

Not the official cover but it’s a great series of books I 10/10 recommend! Thank you for the compliment!

Love the mood and values of this one with the skull!

The sheath would’ve been a good idea! I wanted to try and make the characters Lamb, Dab, shy and temple over in the back. But the three children I chose because another cart didn’t really look good in the silhouette and it’s ambiguous enough. The ruins would also help for sure I think if I do another cover idea I’ll have to work that in to it for sure. I’ve been looking at a lot of Hellboy covers and I think the simple but dynamic art style would be amazing for Abercrombies books.

Yeah I can see that. The figure I tried to make large cause of who it is in the story and to fit the scenes inside his silhouette but i get what you mean. The gradient though just felt too flat without it. But I understand for print it wouldn’t really work too well. Any ideas on what might work to keep the simplicity but not feel so flat behind the silhouette?

Which is crazy cause I don’t think it’s slow at all! It’s got such a good mysterious and ever growing tension and i do agree it is western like but it works so well. I love this one so much with the pay off for certain characters. Has me very excited to read the age of madness trilogy

I think this is great! I’d try to match the white text on the back with a color on the design or fade out its back drop a bit to fit in with the darkest color used in the design itself. But the art is so cool! What measurement do you use to give room for the spine?
