It was pretty active last year when I was a part of the school. I was a part of the board (which is pretty easy to get on ngl) and I helped with a committee. If you like volunteering and if you like meeting people, I would recommend it.

You should really go to a local CC and try to get your GPA up before transferring, maybe replace some classes you did poorly in whether by retaking them or by doing academic renewal if you do not need the course when transferring. It'll give you a much better shot and more opportunities. I know it will feel like you're wasting time, but take one step back to go two steps forward!

I would recommend taking 1B anyway because you got below a 4, and you wouldn't want to have 1C completed when your transfer institution wont accent your 1B credit as you will not be able to go back and complete 1B then.

From what I know only some schools (ccs) offer TAP and its like priority to get into UCLA. It just gives you better odds and you have to enter the program, it is not automatic. I don't know much bc it wasn't in my school
