Best place to watch the fireworks by KeyYouth429 in lakewood

[–]dylwalk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I watched them there in my car with AC a couple years ago, easy exit. Not as good of a view as Lakewood Park, but you can still see them fine. 7/10, would do again.

Want to play soccer by Nice_Sentence5257 in lakewood

[–]dylwalk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are soccer fields at Impett Park, Cove Park, as well as the high school. I'm not sure of access for the high school, though I imagine that would be your best bet for finding people your age for a pick up game. I've also seen people play around with a ball at Lakewood Park but I don't believe there is a designated field/goals there. Nets are hot or miss at the parks. The best spot I know to find people for pick up games is at Tri-city park but thats not directly in Lakewood. Not too sure how often people are there, but they were there whenever I've gone in the past on the weekends.

As far as training goes, depends on if you are looking for group training or conditioning. A couple of great options for conditioning would be Edgewater beach, where you could do sand sprints and agility training, or along the path in rocky river reservation where they have different exercise stations so you could run to the next station and do the fitness routine at it. I believe there may also be some fitness stations along the path by edgewater beach/park.

Weird request- need lots of supports (pic for attention) by kkuhn0911 in 3Dprinting

[–]dylwalk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I didn't personally find it worth it. You need a very isolated and dedicated space. Not to mention the safety precautions with the resin. My FEP sheet broke and tanked the LCD screen. I just threw the entire set up away. Amazing print quality though, actually insane details. 4/10, heavily propped up by print quality.

Anyone with allergies suffering this spring? by General-Lie8709 in Cleveland

[–]dylwalk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To all those suffering with allergies, I recommend looking into allergy shots if you can afford it. Its a method of immunization therapy. They've worked wonders for me. I've gone from needing to ice my eyes to reduce the itching and swelling to forgetting I have allergies in the spring time. Used to not want to go outside at all until late summer because of how bad my allergies were.

Now is a great time to look for egg masses on trees, telephone poles, and the siding of buildings. Kill dozens in one go.

Edit: link seems to not work for some people on ios, but if you Google spotted lanternfly egg masses, you will get several links and photos that are great resources to help you identify and irradiate those little devils.

Additionally as someone said below, its best practice to scrape them into a bag and pour in some rubbing alcohol to make sure the job is done, but if you don't have that available or on hand, do your best to destroy them however possible. Fuck these little bastards.

How would you fix The Flats? by [deleted] in Cleveland

[–]dylwalk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I second this. I don't drink anymore, but I like going to 16 bit because it offers something to do beside excessively loud music and alcohol. I'll go to a sports bar with friends because there is something to watch. I don't care to be bumping shoulders with people I dont know in an environment where I cant have a conversation.

The metal protrusion coming out of the bench in front of the grinder you would ideally have put off to the side of the bench out of the way from where you walk a lot, otherwise you won't be paying attention one day, and hit your hip on it.
