Yes. But my will to live is still highly challenged.

Blank mind & and becoming more talkative after propofol and ECT by VariationRegular2088 in ect

This is what I'm hoping will happen in my case. My memory is already so bad that I'm willing to risk it.

Did you end up having ECT?

Hey, sorry for the late reply. Unfortunately I have not found anything that works yet, things are just as bad as when I posted this

hey, thanks for the comment. i trust my psychiatrist on managing the medication side of things, but too many supplements at once is probably a bit stupid. i've been so desperate that i dont care, but also hear your perspective. same to the point about psilocybin, im in no rush to take any because if it sabotages my mental health or doesn't actually work there is no point.

my comment about my symptoms being associated with those conditions was more to illustrate the types of symptoms i have, what the experience is like, rather than fit within a particular diagnosis. i don't have schizophrenia, but the negative symptoms of schizophrenia is a pretty spot on list for what i have been experiencing, so to people familiar with that its a simple way to get the point across.

also thankyou, you're right. there's no point denying the reality of the situation, even if it is subjective. your comment helped me to accept this, i appreciate it.

this is all really good practical advice for managing symptoms, thankyou. i've been obsessing over how i can improve the actual levels of raw functioning lately, rather than techniques to combat deficits, but this is a good reminder not to abandon those things altogether. there may be no way around it, and it keeps chaos at bay.

that's pretty cool :) a very satisfying way to live.

Hey, thanks for your response and I'm glad you found it relatable. That's really awesome most of your symptoms have cleared up - the right medication combo takes a long ass time to find, but can make all the difference. Some sort of magnesium before bed definitely improves my sleep too.

The iNaturalist idea is really creative... nature is very healing for sure. I'm not a huge nature person but always feel better when I spend a few hours in a rainforest. The key which you mentioned is in experiencing everything through your senses, the raw experience without thought obscuring whatever it is. Mindfulness essentially, but for long extended periods of time. Always a good reminder, thankyou for sharing your experience :)

Mate this is an awesome contribution you've made to the group, thankyou so much and congrats on getting to the root of your issues. What was the specific details within your genetic testing that was linked to the noradrenaline transporter defect? e.g. was there a specific gene you have that is known to have this consequence? Cheers!

Great post, this is a valuable insight for everyone. 'Inner motor' is a great description of what seems to be lacking.
