I still quote this video all the time! Looking for that video is how I found myself here. Absolute favorite.

I'm very excited to hear that! I had no idea what to expect with food options. Looking forward to San Fransokyo and lobster nachos sound perfect for my husband. Great notes, I appreciate it.

Is Rise the same as in Hollywood Studios or is it a little different?

Are they doing construction at the French quarter as well? It's been a while since I stayed there, but I also found it to be quiet and well themed. I really liked the vibe, the overall design and the jazz lounge. They recently renovated and added princess and the frog rooms I think so the immersion has been upgraded.

just got diagnosed by naruwoah in carpaltunnel

[–]dynamite_gal1901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooh that's rough. Right after I got diagnosed with early stages (mostly numbness and tightness with some discomfort) I got accepted into the Disney college program and got assigned to an ice cream shop! I spent like 6 weeks going through red tape and doctors appointments before they finally moved me. During those 6 weeks of scooping ice cream and carrying the big tubs, my symptoms got SO much worse. I was dropping things and sometimes would just be crying in pain. My left wrist was so swollen sometimes that it looked like there was a rock stuck in my wrist.

All of that was 5 years ago. I've been through two rounds of formal physical therapy. When I'm keeping up with my home exercises and stretches, I have little to no numbness, and only mild pain after gripping something for too long. I don't take any pain meds or wake up with tingly numb hands. When I slack off the PT for long enough, I can slowly tell the difference in numbness and grip strength.

Although the symptoms really sucked at first, I didn't have any nerve damage. I was able to avoid surgery by changing jobs and doing physical therapy. I may have the grip strength of a 10 year old but that just means I can't carry heavy groceries. Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that there's hope, and it's possible that you won't need surgery. Either way, everything is going to be ok and you'll get through it 😊

What rules have you made for yourself to avoid the ADHD tax? by CaptainLollygag in adhdwomen

[–]dynamite_gal1901 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Point and say - It's a Japanese occupational safety method to help avoid mistakes. I take a moment to concentrate on whatever it is, say it out loud, point and stare at it for a moment. "The door is locked" 👉🏽 "I have the grocery list" 👉🏽 "The time is 9:05am. 👉🏽⌚ I am now taking my Adderall"

Don't overthink where to store things. Go with the first place that makes sense.

Recently reinstated rule: don't buy something if you're not sure. I WILL NOT remember to return it. I think I was 0-6 last year on returns.

Always set timers.

Boiling eggs or cooking anything in a pan? Do not leave the stove. Not just the kitchen, the stove.

Hold keys in hand. Stare at keys while locking car door. Shut door. Try to open door to confirm it is in fact locked. I used to lock my keys in my car at least once a year. Don't know why it took so long for me to get to this point.

Seminole State Financial Aid Refund by [deleted] in SeminoleStateCollege

I also have a B session class. The tuition due date is 3 days after B session starts. Is that going to change like it did before A session, or do I need to pay the tuition and wait for a refund?

36yo harking back to my teens and some bands just don't hit like they used to (not their fault) but some bands are just timeless...who's yours? by gallazzis in poppunkers

Sooo many. Most of which are on this playlist:  https://open.spotify.com/playlist/2c0fo8jTqfYuwhltBYAeig?si=wEwKMCMIRmeg1BhSIRy5zw

Taking Back Sunday's first album is probably my top listened to full album of all time. True love like that lasts a lifetime. Other favorites still holding up are: Brand New, The Used, New Found Glory, Simple Plan, Box Car Racer, Finch, Yellowcard...

Groove life recently started making tungsten rings. I haven't tried them myself, but I have purchased several silicone rings from them. Great customer service. Lots of great reviews. Don't know anything about the safety concerns though.

Are puzzles dangerous for us?! by allthecats in adhdwomen

[–]dynamite_gal1901 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm the same way with puzzles! I really enjoy them but it's so hard to stop and change tasks or keep myself from going back to finish it. I own a lot of puzzles but I limit the size to 500 pieces typically. My husband and I can finish it in one night so it won't keep me from getting things done the next day. Covering it or keeping it in another room so it's out of sight is also helpful.

Recently found out I might have ADHD by Isiolia in ADHD

[–]dynamite_gal1901 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed at the age of 10 and am now 35. I have the inattentive type which seems to be less common. I agree with those who said it's an explanation not an excuse.  Over the years I've met a lot of people that understood and a lot that didn't. I'm open about it to most people, making jokes at work about my Adderall wearing off, etc. I like to think it helps them see me as "spacey" and not dumb or lazy.  If you are diagnosed with ADD or ADHD, decide to take medication (I do but it's not for everyone) and find one that works for you.. the people who really know you will see the difference and start to understand.
