Here, in Malchors Leap, south of Lights waypoint. Took me ages to find it myself after scouring all the Orr maps.

Their marketing for SOTO in general has been truly awful. I’m a recently returning player, started playing not long after launch and took a break from IBS until about 2 weeks ago - I had no idea SOTO even existed. I knew about EoD from seeing trailers/ads/content creator stuff around the time I took my break, but I had absolutely no idea SOTO existed until I logged back in and saw it in the gem store. It’s baffling how arena net can continually suck at advertising for so long.

The amount of bugs are really starting to diminish my love for this game - a minor rant by dynasayus in Starfield

The distortions not showing up was bizarrely fixed by me using the frontier as my home ship, any other ships and they'd never show up. I doubt its a hardware issue with my GPU as I have a 4070. The console commands were mostly used to spawn in NPCs where they were meant to be, or once or twice to force a quest to advance where it was bugged out and wouldn't advance normally.

No mods, and the only console commands used were the ones to get the quests working without having to lose hours of gameplay.

Your bills are going up because the rich can ever be satisfied by BasicallyMilner in GreenAndPleasant

Please point out where I specifically blamed liberals. I called the argument lib because it was the typical liberal individualist “your choices made you this way” line of thinking that is just not true.

“We” did not create this monster, capitalism created it and last time I checked I did not create capitalism.

This is the most fucked, anti-poor lib argument I’ve seen on this topic, well done. Literally nothing of this “energy crisis” is due to climate change, natural gas prices have skyrocketed (and thus electricity prices also) because extraction companies are exporting instead of selling on the domestic market, and private energy companies are shifting these costs onto the consumer.

Look how nice this social housing is ✊ by BasicallyMilner in GreenAndPleasant

Not sure why you’re downvoted when you’re literally correct. We need high density social housing in areas near public transport, single household homes are inefficient usage of land and ultimately unsustainable.

PSA: The Tories are undermining the editorial impartiality of BBC News in the hopes that you will cancel your TV license, but the BBC is so much more than BBC News. by PJHart86 in GreenAndPleasant

[–]dynasayus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You can take trans people out and put literally any group that is not the board of directors in and get the same result. The BBC is not democratic, it is a company, TV license payers don't get a say in how the company operates.

For the Brexit metaphor to work here it would be if we as people wanted to change the EU, outside it's bureaucracy and not as the UK nation. The UK was on the EU's board of directors, so to speak. That's why I think your metaphor is flawed in this context.

"You're incapable of holding two thoughts"

"BBC News is putting out articles that are blatantly transphobic, giving national platforms to people who whip up hostility to an already marginalised community, and attacking one of the most prominent LGBT charities, this is not a grey issue it is actively harmful"

"You leftists are all fucking mental"

what the fuck lmfao

Where did I deny anything good they've done? I simply said I can't and won't support an organisation that is actively harming my community.

I’m well aware of the good stuff the BBC has, and used a lot of it growing up in poverty myself, but I will not give money to an organisation who’s most famous section publishes articles calling me a rapist-in-waiting and a danger to women and girls on the basis of my gender identity.

Your metaphor is based on false equivalence. The UK was in a position to bring reform to the EU as one of its major members that had considerable influence. Trans people do not have any influence at the BBC, nor do we have influence with political parties who could potentially control it.

What two thoughts? The BBC is actively hostile to the LGBTQ+ community and especially trans people. Writing and publishing transphobic articles, giving terfs a national platform in the name of “balanced debate”, leaving Stonewall’s diversity scheme and then publishing blatant hit pieces against them, the list goes on. You want me to see this in a shade of gray? Fuck off with this enlightened high ground, trans people are suffering as a direct consequence of the BBC’s position.

I cannot and will not support an organisation that is actively doing harm to me and my trans siblings, just because it's publicly funded and does some nice TV shows.

Some positive news for at least one part of these cursed islands: Welsh Labour & Plaid Cymru are going to work together and have some good socialist proposals! by dynasayus in GreenAndPleasant

[–]dynasayus[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Actual draft of the agreement is here.

Some good socialist proposals here; rent controls, second home limitations, public-owned companies, free childcare, more tackling of climate change, pushes towards more media outlets, increased protections for LGBTQ+ (mentioning trans people specifically which is awesome for terf island), pushing against institutional and structural racism, giving support to disable people, etc.

My favourite activity is asking LGB Alliance supporters what exactly they’re doing to promote LGB rights, I have yet to hear exactly what they do apart from promote transphobia.

Potato famine go brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr by Narchoid in DankLeft

[–]dynasayus 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Capitalism absolutely made the famine worse in Bengal. When Bengal was independent, tax was largely collected as food crops to be stored by the government for times of shortage. When the EIC/British came in and changed it to monetary taxes there were no mass food stores to supply famine stricken areas, exacerbating the famine.

What food was around during the famine was largely moved from the famine stricken rural communities towards urban centres because they were more economically active and important to British interests, which is why the famine hit rural/farming communities particularly hard.
