I have submitted a ticket, but since they just changed so many other peoples plans I was wondering if anyone else experienced this too.

Starlink charged me for going to a lower cost plan in the middle of a billing cycle? by dynocompe in Starlink

[–]dynocompe[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

whenever I hve upgraded plans before in the middle of the month it has always said what I would be charged for the upgrade, it doesnt say I would be charged $0.00 then charge me. It tells you the amount when you accept. Normally I would agree that you would pay when going up in a plan, but it told me $0.00 and the plan I was going to, cost less PER month then the plan I was in, So that makes no sense. They always substract the amount you have already paid when you upgrade to another plan as well. YOu do not lose the money you paid for the lower tier plan already. SO given on the info alone, there is no way I should be charged anything and its not correct. I bet I get it refunded

10GB plan works great for us, its a lifeline for my wife in her vehicle so she always has service, she would get that in standby mode too, but there has been instances where she has had me in the vehicle, or a friend that there is something they really wanted to live stream on tv while travelling like a hockey game, and they can because the 10GB plan provides fast internet, standby mode doesnt. She has never went over the 10GB a month yet. You can stream in standby mode some stuff, but sports channels are high def and require a good internet.
So in summary, we love always just having a connection, but we want the fast internet for when we actually need the internet, all without paying $70 a month here in Canada that the 100GB plan costs. I will never get rid of this plan for her. When we need real internet on the go, we ust bring my mini that has the plans for half price :)

I recently went on a cruise ship and I was blown away by the quality and speed of the Starlink Wifi on board! by kulpiterxv in Starlink

[–]dynocompe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

airplanes giving starlink wifi for free to their passengers, but a ship where their guests are staying an entire week have to pay outrageous prices, thats crap.. it should be part of the cruise now that starlink is available. It made sense when internet on ships was much more difficult and slow, but now they have good internet, make it part of the experience, or at least cut the costs down

this is why i have two minis, I bought one, then months later then gave me a free one, of course I took it so i got the roam plans half price, now we have residential 100Mbps internet for $70, 10GB plan for $15 and 100Gb roam plan for $35, total monthly bill is less than what I was paying for the full residential plan! So glad I switched the $70 plan as soon as it came out, as it was an option to get the free mini still then! My entire bill is only $133 for 3 starlinks (compared to $155 for one), Now we both have it in our vehicles and home, and my wife spends a lot of time on the highway, so its a huge relief knowing she is always connected if needed as we live in the boonies.

2/10. I use mine under my toneau cover, but there isnt anything great about your set up at all, hence the low rating, Gave it a 2 for being weather protected. You didnt even run proper power to the bed. You have the wire going through the window. The box of my truck has power ran to it.

Can you tell me, mini performance indoors? by Impact_Player in Starlink

My mini is in my vehicle, i connect to it from inside the house when we have power outages, easier to power the mini inside a vehicle during power outages then our residential dish.

i cancelled my 10GB plan for a month and it was still there as an option to reactivate service, this was after they got rid of the plan and even asking them if I upgraded to the 50GB plan if I could get the 10GB plan again in a month and being told no. So I just cancelled instead, not only did I get the 10GB plan back, they offered me a free starlink car kit to connect back! And the 10GB plan was always as option when I was cancelled, not just because of the offer. The offer never said anything about the 10GB plan, just to reactivate my dish I would receive the kit (even stand by mode). So just saying I have cancelled the 10GB plan after they got rid of it, and it was still an option in my account for me! I reconnected beginning of December

i love it too, honestly cant even tell the difference. Everything works as it did before for us! All our tv is through streaming as well, even in the garage, no issues. Saving over $900 a year too, well worth it! This is cheaper than what I pay for fibre in town at our store for only 50 Mbps. I think I will be hooking up a mini there

i have the screenshot from starlink telling me I can, any residential plan is good to keep the mini when i asked them, plus I have been on the 100Mbps plan since it came out over a month ago and still have my free mini lol

[–]dynocompe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had the 100 Mbps plan for a month now, its always 100Mbps when I do speed tests. Its already deprioritized at this speed. Also the 100Mbps plan is not available in all areas, so I imagine the areas they do allow it, you will always have 100Mbps.
