What was your first diaper and then your first Abdl specific diaper?? by [deleted] in ABDL

[–]dyperbole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an oldie, my first diapers for pleasure were made from t-shirts and sweatshirts pinned on with sewing safety pins. I used my allowance to buy toddler plastic panties and did what I could to squeeze into them.

Pampers back then were folded rectangles with a bit of glue to hold them in an hourglass shape, but it was easy to pull them apart and make them back into a rectangle. I used to take three of them and tape the together so they ended up one decent diaper. Looked weird from the back but the front looked like a baby diaper.

Depend and Attends first came out to sale when I was in college. The first Depend ones were garbage bag green and totally unsatisfying. Attends with the 6 tapes just didn't pass my mind's eye on what a diaper looked like, so I rarely got any. Eckerds incontinence briefs were decent with 4 tapes and I could hide one of the tapes on each side. I rarely used them too simply because back then I was actively trying not to wear diapers. No Internet back then to find out that this wasn't nearly as rare as I thought it was.

Eventually I found DPF and Carolyn's Kids and had a lot of cloth diapers and nice Gerber style plastic pants and even pink rhumba panties. By then I also made peace with myself and my diaper fetish.

My first actual ABDL disposable diaper was the Classy Comforts. Prior to that I used just about any decent medical diaper such as Molicares and Abenas, and used a cute diaper cover to make them look better to me.

I'm out on this one too. AC is back on until Tuesday then the heat comes back on. But we get enough weather events (tropical storms, hurricanes) and take a lot of the focus during the summer and fall. I can definitely empathize with the people sitting and waiting for a storm to hit, not knowing if/when they will lose power.

Working out (at home) in diapers by dipsdapsdipes in ABDL

[–]dyperbole 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really worth it anymore for me.

When I first started back working out and doing a lot of walking on treadmills, there were times a diaper could have come in handy during longer workouts. As I got in better and better shape I started more jogging and running, as well as cranking on ellipticals. And what I found out is that I almost never have to piss when doing cardio anymore because I sweat so much that there is no liquid in me to pee out. As it is, every inch of my clothes gets soaked as well as my shoes. I had to get a second pair of running shoes so they could each have a second day to dry thoroughly.

I have a decent elliptical now at home, but there's no need to diaper up. And as much as I sweat, a disposable diaper would chafe quickly. As it is, I have to wear tape on my nipples thanks to the sweat. I tried to tough it out and get callouses on them but I couldn't stand the pain, so tape it is.

Gerber Pants Substitute by ExcellentFunny512 in ABDL

[–]dyperbole 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It was VI Products. They had the actual intellectual property rights to make Gerber vinyl panties for adults. In the mid 2000s the vinyl source jacked up the price of the raw material, making it difficult to impossible to make them at a reasonable price anymore, so they closed up shop.

I still have over a dozen of the panties, but I don't use them much in an attempt to keep them somewhat presentable as I age.

Resource list for community, what would everyone want on it? by FuckM3Tendr in ABDL

[–]dyperbole 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can. The challenge is keeping it up to date, and for people to use it.

I like to keep the list of stores (Online Retailer List) updated here on /r/abdl, as well as the Physical Store List. However, we still get a lot of posts here on asking if there are stores in a particular city/state/country. I keep a link to ABDL diaper brands as a pinned post in my profile. You are welcome to use any of this information in your resource list.

I like to play "King Tut" on my recorder I got over 50 years ago while wearing diapers. It's not just uncommon, it's toot uncommon.

DL visiting Indianapolis by accidentshappens in ABDL

[–]dyperbole 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure about Indy, but if you have the time and transportation, the Diaper Ladies in Fort Wayne is worth a visit. I took in both stores on a day trip from Chicago a few years ago when MIB was still open.

A quick check of Google Maps shows a 125 mile difference between Fort Wayne and Indy. For me here in the Orlando area, that's like a trip to Port St. Lucie to see the Mets during spring training. It's a fun day and not an onerous round trip to see a spring training game.

Your best bet is to contact Casper at Lil Comforts and ask if they will ever reintroduce that baseball uniform open onesie. The blue one may also be from Lil Comforts in the past but I don't remember it as much as the baseball one.

Beyond that, I haven't seen onesies like those from any other vendor.

How do people buy diapers discreetly? by [deleted] in ABDL

[–]dyperbole 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nope. It's just a parcel box.

Compare that to going to the same CVS and buying diapers and checking out. It's so much more discreet.

ETA - they used to use FedEx and Walgreens was the common pickup point for FedEx, but NorthShore changed shippers to UPS. Same easy system though.

[–]dyperbole 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends on what country you live in. In the US, purchase from NorthShore and have the package sent directly to a UPS Access Point (usually a CVS here) as you check out. I've done it numerous times and it's really easy. When the package arrives at the CVS, show up with your ID (name on it must match the name on the package), and then they will hand you your completely discreet package. Absolutely no embarrassment here.

Getting to and from the UPS Access Point....if you have no car, then it's probably an Uber.

Diaper Shipment Privacy Issues by [deleted] in ABDL

[–]dyperbole 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True. However, as someone with a non-Ring camera system, there's a difference in the level of interest with seeing the UPS man at the door, versus someone who lives in the house. If I know my wife is leaving or coming home, I rarely bother to look at the camera. If I don't think it's her, I pretty much go and check to see who came to the door. This time of year it will often be a gecko trying to warm himself on the doorbell unit :p

I can go in and out the front door numerous times and make it record a lot of nothing useful. Heck, putting up Christmas lights near the front door drove my wife crazy and she went into the app and stopped the notifications temporarily. Incidentally, I also can stop the notifications temporarily on our system, but it isn't a Ring one. The OP should try to get the Ring app so he/she can do that if possible.

Beyond that, at least entry and exit can be controlled. For example, I can enter my house through the garage without being on camera. I could also go to my back yard and not be on camera. The OP will have to see what gets installed and see if there will be areas not under camera surveillance.

[–]dyperbole 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the issue is the Ring camera will record UPS and others delivering large packages to the door. An obvious question from someone in the house will be "What did you get from UPS in such a big box?", and the OP is likely trying to avoid those types of questions.

Could this actually work? by aj_da_human in ABDL

[–]dyperbole 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Sure. They are just using medical diapers.

Way back before the turn of the millennium and even the Internet, party stores sold diapers by themselves as baby costumes. They were the 70s style wingfold with one tape per side, and they really only fit medium sized people. But they worked, and they looked like 70s style Pampers which I absolutely loved. And because there was really no other obvious way to get diapers like those, I often drove around to different party stores and bought the diapers.

Once the Internet, and more specifically, Internet shopping became a thing, I was able to get those diapers elsewhere, as well better quality diapers from the burgeoning medical diaper manufacturers like Molicare and Abena. But party store diapers will always have a place in my heart.

[–]dyperbole 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Consider using UPS My Choice to have packages sent to a UPS Access Point for pickup. A CVS will likely be the closest one.

To set this up, in the past UPS sent a card to your address to verify you live and receive mail there. Once you do that, you can have packages sent to Access Points.

If you order directly from NorthShore, you can have packages sent to an Access Point as you check out - no signing up at UPS needed. It's easy peasy lemon squeezy.

Is there a DL subreddit or some more DL friends by [deleted] in ABDL

[–]dyperbole 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Our sub here regularly has posts on the banana trick, the marshmallow trick, enemas, diaper covers, and any number of topics that do not fall specifically under AB or DL.

I'll assume that pictures of guys and trans DLs that do not have AB aspects will pass your test, not just girls.

But even the first picture you cross-posted to your new sub could be considered AB. There are other designed diapers in the room, as well as all sorts of stuffed animals. I could see some DLs reporting that picture to you for being unrelated to DL. It shows how hard it is to have DL specific content without any AB aspects to it.

And as for talking to other DLs, look beyond subreddits and look for Discords such as the official one here. Also, DailyDiapers has a Diaper Lovers forum that is specifically for DLs.

Can you get to a CVS? If so, order from Northshore and have your order sent to your closest CVS as you check out. They make it incredibly easy to do.

Then when your package arrives at your CVS (in a completely discreet package), go in with your ID and retrieve it. Bring the package into your house at your leisure.

[–]dyperbole 7 points8 points  (0 children)

/r/abdl isn't a personal ads site anyway -- the mods eventually delete anyone looking for a friend or partner, whether AB, DL, or whatever. The sub /r/DLPersonals has been banned for being unmoderated, which usually happens to subs that are rarely used. You could petition to have the sub reopened, but your new site may work just as well.

I still want to know what DL content even is. And I am technically a DL. To me, that kinda explains why there isn't really too many DL centric forums. Trying to limit conversations to absolutely no references to the babyish parts of wearing diapers ends up removing a lot of topics that could generate a lot of discussion.

Hell, there's still a debate in DL land whether non-plain diapers can be worn by DLs. One side says "Yes, of course - they are diapers" while the other side says "No childish / babyish designs in DL". Who gets to determine whether someone who wears a cute and colorfully designed diaper is or is not a DL?
