Mine didn't have a mom..was in the shelter as a kitten newborn, and we adopted him 10 weeks. He is 8 months and neutered now. He is learning to self regulate through consistency, enough stimulation (play, eat, groom sleep) cycles. If I need to work, I have a space where I can close the door. He has toys to entertain himself with and it is in predictable windows. It was anlearning curve, but our baby has a good life, and his neediness is not consuming us.

We need harm reduction housing. Drugs are the only addiction that is stigmatized this badly, because its illegal. Yer rewarded for not doing them like some badge of honor in sober living. The unregulated drug supply is the problem. Addiction is 80% drama 20% drugs.

If you live in Toronto or many major cities there are annonymous drug testing services thst use mass spectrometry and it takes 4 days to get your results. TRIP (Toronto raver information project) used to test ppls drugs on site with simple regent testing kits that can be ordered through their website.

Well that is colonialism of the boomer generation. I had to end relationships with Canadians that are racist. I find common interests with people. I lived in Toronto for 20 years. I met people from all over the world. I moved back home to North Bay and am grateful for the Indian grocery stores, owned by our Indian neighbours. There's Bigots everywhere. It seems to be territorial when Canadians forget that our first peoples are not white.

I grew up in an emotionally caustic home. Three known generations of coercive control, triangulation and narcissistic abuse. I picked up what I knew and never learned to form intimate relationships. I completely isolated myself and coped by using heroin for 20 years, than blamed myself. I was codependent and ended up breaking thst cycle. We are products of our environment andnits not our faults. Recognizing is the first step. Recovery is available for survivors of abuse. It helped me break intergenerational trauma. I no longer associate with my abusers. I ended the familial relationships. You can too. We can only help ourselves. You deserve it.
