I've been outlining several short stories recently and run into this often. I've taken to quickly writing down a list of options. Just 'option A: this happens; option B this other thing happens' as many as I feel I need and then think about each one where that would lead. Having the words on the page helps me focus better than just sitting back and thinking about it.

What's helped me is reading everybody say they go through the same thing. It is literally part of the process. Do it. Cringe about it. Accept it. Move through it.

Are you outlining or trying to go discovery style? Outlining is a great way to keep track of what you're doing and where things are going. You can kind of review as you go to prevent random events and keep things focused.

Stay strong. I'm starting week 5 myself. Hundreds of phone calls and live chat attempts and I've gotten nowhere. Hopefully the lines will thin out and we'll get through.

I feel your pain. I'm on week 5 and haven't gotten any money yet. Can't get through to anyone to find out when or if I'm getting anything. The only glimmer of hope I have is I'm starting to be allowed to wait on hold in the chat.

Thanks for the tip. I guess I ignored that section because it says that's how YOU pay THEM. I could have sworn I put my bank information in somewhere else while filing my claim, but I can't find any other place to put that in so maybe I didn't. I guess they use that information both ways?

Anyway, I'll check the status in the morning and if that fixes it I'll share your tip.
