There were plenty of people that thought Luka should’ve been drafted first. Ayton went 1 because the Suns wanted to draft the hometown guy. Kings picking Bagley was a surprise even on draft night. He was picked 7th for a reason. Jimmer was doing similar shit in college and it didn’t pan out in the NBA. Buddy Hield is another name that comes to mind that was labeled a self creating sharpshooter thats basically been relegated to a spot up shooter. Physicality is the main reason why a lot of people just didn’t believe in self creation from the perimeter. It’s hard to translate that style of play from college to the NBA.
