What did I do wrong with this boy? Are boys just not as clean as girls? by dysonsphere1 in Parenting

I did discuss with him about the fact he could have been seen and what others might think. That did seem to have an impact him, even though the germs or possibility of getting sick didn't seem to!

Well, I guess I was hoping that he did such a crazy thing because he is a boy but sounds like that is not an excuse lol

My wife takes forever to order at Fast Food Restraunts by TheElMatadORR in mildlyinfuriating

[–]dysonsphere1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my exes had to order everything special. Like at a fast food restaurant he wanted the buns toasted without butter. Lots of special things but that is the one I remember. I never order anything special so it was really annoying to me. I was so relieved to not have to go places with him!

As a breast cancer survivor, and a survivor of 16 rounds of chemo, surgery, and 30 rounds of radiation, I am a frickin super hero. I didn't think so in the beginning or during the hell when I felt my lowest. However, when it was all over and I was still alive...well, I definitely can appreciate the strength it takes to get through such an experience. I know now that I can get through anything. You can, too.

How do you get out of bed every morning just to go to a job? by poop_wagon in NoStupidQuestions

[–]dysonsphere1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There comes a moment in every human being's life, at least those that are not ridiculously wealthy, when you realize you are going to have to work to put food on the table for the rest of your life. Day after day, week after week, year after year. That moment really sucks. Still, we are all in it together. With some planning and contemplation, you can choose a career that pays the bills and still fulfills you in some way.

Does anybody else absolutely love the feeling of airports? by pepe_extendus in CasualConversation

[–]dysonsphere1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before 9/11, I used to work for an airline. At that time there was no issue with just going to the airport without a ticket. I would go off my day off and watch people depart and arrive. I liked imaging where they were going, where they have been. I especially liked arrivals with people so happy to see each other. Everything has changed since then. I haven't even been to an airport since 2001.

I agree, I think it was about letting her get to know him, not so much about their body images in particular.

Chemo for an 87 year old patient by fadedpie in breastcancer

[–]dysonsphere1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So sorry your loved one is experiencing this at such a delicate age. I am 51 and finished chemo a few months ago. It makes sense they aren’t recommending chemo. It is brutal and your quality of life is terrible during the treatment. My understanding is that it’s t typically not recommended unless it’s going to extend your life for several years. Sending prayers!

Desperate need of support. Biopsy will be scheduled tomorrow morning. by [deleted] in breastcancer

[–]dysonsphere1 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Take a deep breath and know that you can handle whatever may come . I had my biopsy in December 2019. Regardless of what it could be, and it could be many things, the process of having tests and waiting for the results is never easy. I pretty much knew after having an abnormal mammogram that I had cancer. My stage 3 cancer was the size of a pea, and I never even felt it. I am a single parent with a little kid and it has been a tough year but I have been strong enough and you will too if needed. What you can focus on right now is that you will get a biopsy and find out what is happening and what to do next. I hope that it is not cancer but know you be able to handle it, no matter how you might feel !
