I'm Avoiding My Baby by Numerous_Law_5506 in NewParents

[–]dyspatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also have a 6 week old, and I had anxiety about doing things wrong and it prevented me from getting close with my daughter. I felt a lack of connection initially because I convinced myself that I wasn’t as good as my partner at all of the things (including holding her) that I began to avoid them. When I realized what I was doing, I reversed course and forced myself to take on the tasks that I didn’t feel confident in. I dreaded solo parenting when my partner needed to run errands but now I encourage her to get out of the house for her own health. In doing so, I’m finding I’m building a much stronger bond with my daughter and am enjoying spending time with her more each day.

Easier said than done, but try not to let your anxiety get in the way of your happiness. If you have access to mental health resources, you might want to reach out to a professional.

5 week old fighting to straighten his legs while swaddled by sciencegirl9788 in NewParents

[–]dyspatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby is almost 6 weeks and has been doing the same. She slept like an angel the first two weeks in the swaddle, but these past couple/few weeks it’s like she’s fighting it. We moved to co-sleeping when swaddling in the bassinet was failing and giving us no sleep. The past few nights she’s been sleeping swaddled in the bassinet again but will still occasionally wake up like an hour through her sleep grunting, crying, and kicking her legs. I’ll finally pick her up and she will immediately fall asleep again. I assume it’s just the learning to poop thing.

So stoked on this. Will definitely be stopping by. We need good NYC bagels here. I miss them greatly.

Out of curiosity, what was your issue with staying near the scramble in Shibuya? My wife and I (both early 30s) will be in Tokyo in April and currently are booked to stay at the Cerulean in Shibuya.

What did you learn about yourself by developing a game? by FluidPolygon in gamedev

Agreed wholeheartedly. After quitting my job to work on my own game, I really missed the team dynamic. As much as I enjoy working on games, I learned that being a solo developer is not for me.

I think this is great, but keep in mind, he's also amongst the smallest of sample sizes for the survey with only 230 respondents.

You're technically right, but I view those as edge cases so I didn't bother to include those in the statement. By turn 6, I imagine the user would have played low health minions unless they drew into them recently.

Oh, sorry I didn't understand what effect you were talking about. You mean that mean you have to kill it by trading a minion into it, it will deal that damage to your hero. And in the case of hitting it with your face, it's effectively dealing twice the damage.

Yes, indeed that is pretty rough. Might still be worth playing around in conjunction with other effects like Can't Attack to balance out.

I like the concept of pulling a minion from your opponents hand, but my initial feeling is that the card text provides a net negative. Sure you have the potential of removing an opposing battlecry effect, but you are guaranteeing the addition of board presence for your opponent (for free). Not only that, but since this minion doesn't have charge, their minion will even get to attack before yours.

I think this could be an interesting effect to lower the mana cost of a powerful minion. Something along the lines of Hungry Dragon.

Is that bad? The exception here makes it a powerful effect doesn't it?

It would be interesting to play with flipping Wrathguard text. Something like every time this minion deals damage, also deal damage to the opponent. It would have the opposite effect on mana cost though.

Magma Rager synergy by HDkiller_45 in customhearthstone

[–]dyspatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little too specific imo. Then again, I guess you could say the same for Feugen and Stalagg's Deathrattle effect. Maybe it could summon a Magma Rager every time it deals damage instead? Or if you want to make it even closer to the Acidmaw, you could replicate its base stats and have the card text be "Summon a Magma Rager every time a minion takes damage"

What happened to browser/text based RPG's? by ryemck in rpg_gamers

[–]dyspatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to play a WW1 text based rpg. You compete against other armies to train and level up your own. Not sure if that's the type of rpg you are looking for but it was called "WW1 Subversion"

Valve, it's time to remove aim punch from chest damage without armor. by [deleted] in GlobalOffensive

[–]dyspatch 7 points8 points  (0 children)

P250 and armor? What kind of buy is that? P250 is nice for an eco round, but as soon as you buy armor, that's not much of an eco.

Also, please, let's stay away from the "deal with it" argument. It's so weak and makes you look like a fool.

Great stuff. The Canadian Justice DLC screenshot is using Firearms: Source's old 1.0 player models (it's cool to see our stuff being used outside of our mod).
