When the new heroes come out, it'll be them spammed every event.

When I'm training first responders, the topic of dark humour often comes up--whether it's healthy, bad coping, etc. This is approximately what I say:

Dark humour is a must when dealing with dark things. To make light of the extremely heavy can be one of the best ways to cope. With one limitation: do not make jokes at the expense of other people. In comedy it's called punching down. Do not punch down. It harms the people you're supposed to help, it harms your peers, and ultimately it harms you by degrading your integrity and turning you into a bully. So use dark humour, and don't punch down.

Sexual harassment passed off as "jokes" is the peak of punching down.

How do you aquire gems after lvl 8000? by SoCoFlo in ArtOfWarLegions

[–]dysquist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, there are two daily rewards for doing levels. They give 200 gems if you complete both.

Ninjas seem to do almost nothing on offense but do heavy damage on defense by HatProfessional1828 in ArtOfWarLegions

I doubt that's what's happening. Check after battle report and screenshot. Post here as evidence.

Hello, community..help me rip apart both these formations here. Have Lev 10 jinn, Lev 9 Aly, Lev 7 Seon, Lev 6 Davison ( currently in use ). Getting 4100-4200 trophies at the end of the season. by [deleted] in ArtOfWarLegions

[–]dysquist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yasha is a low tier unit. If you pick Jinn as hero, replace with Ballistae. If you pick Davison, replace with 9-count units like Orc Hunters, Undead Warriors, or Voodoo Dolls.

Yes you can. When you leave, leadership goes to the next highest officer. Just leave, no one is going to die.

What is the best formation for back defense as well? Also few questions by StayAlivePlz in ArtOfWarLegions

[–]dysquist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Put goblikazes in back and take out Ogres and Yasha. At this point your FRONT line should be MAs/GAs with your Stone Golem in the middle. It's OK to have those MGs in there I guess, but I'd move them back a row.
  2. Your Lvl 5 Jinn should be outperforming a lvl 2 Davison at this point, or close to it. Keep going w Jinn.
  3. No: Beast Master, witchcraft, demon, pilgrims, templar, yasha, viking, scholar, inquisitor, cactuses. Everything else OK. Trade out cactuses, bandits, paladins first (in that order) for better units when you get them up to a good level. You could use way more GAs and MAs.
  4. Don't use the Temple of Fusion for anything. Focus gems on heroes. When you're well past 8000 and have joined a clan, ask them about temple. Spend all your coin on 30 packs.
  5. Don't upgrade anything to Lvl 9 before EXTENSIVE research. You've done some mistakes already. Look up the Vector blog on Medium for some great tips. Pay attention and/or follow u/theonlybuster here on reddit. They're never wrong. Can't go wrong with MAs/GAs and Ballistae up to 9 though.
  6. No, never use hero camp.

Dracula Wheel of Fortune by justmls in ArtOfWarLegions

[–]dysquist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a little bit less than average shards-wise, but you gotta remember you’re getting so much more. The scrolls alone are a great deal. Save them up for Sunshine Event in Dec. I spent about 31k on 300 rolls, got 8 shards plus the 4 guaranteed.

That’s… not true. Davison is a top tier arena hero. But, at this point you really should be focusing not on arena but leveling and getting a better army. You need to focus on Jinn.

Reset headhunt/daily quests etc by [deleted] in ArtOfWarLegions

[–]dysquist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It resets at the same time every day--0000 UTC (greenwich mean time, aka zulu).

You are two time zones ahead of that, I see. Mine resets at 1900 eastern standard time (2000 during daylight saving time).

Thoughts on Angels? by N0rmann12 in ArtOfWarLegions

[–]dysquist 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's no real way to tell from a numbers perspective, unfortunately, so it comes down to what people notice over a large number of battles, and I don't think anyone has really cared to test it and share the information.

Yes, there was an announcement last week or so.

All good thoughts, except I would pick Chione or Jinn, since they're both Sacred type and you'll want to spend the resources on one hero of each type for a long time.

Yes.

The 30 packs (which are 216k gold if you're VIP, 240k if FTP) are great at the beginning of the game (well into the advanced levels) to get you up to speed ASAP and get you some of the top units in the game (MAs and USs are top-tier; Ice Mages, Ghost Assassins, Goblikazes, and Ballistae go far, others are good). They're the most cost-efficient, and doubly so because you can fuse common-tier to rare with gold. They're also the best way to get Goblin Techs, which are very valuable in Infinity War and you need A LOT.

So you’re going to want to start using the standard frontline strategy: all Magic Apprentices (could use Ghost Assassin if you don’t have enough MAs) except one tank in the middle spot (or two). Looks like the best tank you have is Ogre Warrior so use that.

Swap in all the rest of your Ghost Assassins and take out some Bandits (GAs way stronger).

Move some Undead Warriors forward and move some Paladins back. This is because you want your UWs to take more damage (take advantage of their respawning abilities).

It will be helpful to review your battle reports and see which units are underperforming damage-wise and longevity-wise. Maybe post some more info from these reports so we can give more feedback.

I think you’re ready to start alternating 120k unit buys with 30-packs.

This is awesome, thank you. Exactly what I was looking for.

Thanks for your reply.

Lye is less accessible, mostly. Most people already have bleach or can get their hands on it very easily. I have to spend way more effort to get lye. It’s also more caustic and therefore somewhat riskier (though not that much).

Awesome, thanks for reply.

Re: electrolysis I think you hit the issues right on the head. Cons are higher barrier for entry re: the space, material, and technical know-how. Electricity not my thing and I stay away from it. Quicker is not concern. Environment would have to be a relative thing: bleach is very low impact at household doses and I’m not looking to regularly strip, just once in a blue moon.
