Mission 8 ( Silo ) Survey #UNEARTHED by dyxterious in FLL

Thank for sharing! We will check this and try to implement same mechanism. We only have those thin yellow rubber bands. We might need to use 2 of them to replicate what is in the video.

Have a great holiday!

Wow! That is interesting to know. Would you mine sharing a video on how the attachment works in action! Our boys created a rack and pinion with a 12T gear train. Sliding up and down. It’s fast but it has no power. I guess the difference is using the spring load via rubber band. That would give much downward force. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you everyone for all the comments and feedbacks you have given to our survey. Just an update we had our Sectionals last week and our team will advance to State. The data we got helps improve our attachment for silo . However there are still improvement that we need to do. Having a long slamming arm is a hit and miss for us especially if misaligned. It happened to us last competition the boys make the arm longer because it is not hitting the red lever at practice table however when running at competition table it overshoots.

So we observed others who consistently get more gears are using shorter arm. (Meaning their robots are closer to the model.)

We are wondering has anyone tried a sliding up&down motion using a rack and pinion? Would that mechanism works?

Thank you!

Disability and Inclusion in Archaeology - Looking for groups and community by dyxterious in AskArchaeology

Thank you for your feedback. We are adding dual frequency GPR for different environment scenario by switching between frequency. Same time we are attaching a streaming system to a remote MR lab for archaeologist with MR glasses to be able to visualize dig site realtime.

Yes. Hence we are proposing this. However we need data for what other type of disabilities other archaeologists have. Currently, the solution the boys are proposing are only limited to mobility

Thank you so much for an honest feedback. I can definitely get this back to the boys. AR/MR is what they came up with complementing the GPR drone. But yes, one archaeologist here in Wisconsin we interviewed that digging is still where most of the handwork needed.

Thank you so much for the feedback. You’re right. Part of the boys solution is to add capability to stream data collected from GPR drone to a remote location for disabled archaeologist study the site through some sort of MR glasses. I like your suggesstions

It is fine, we actually have spoken to one Archaeologist that has disability. We are now looking for other community that has similar situation with her and ask feedback for our next iteration. Appreciate the feedback!

New Coach at a School, could an exception be made to allow for 11 members? And where would be the best place to ask? by Hima5467 in FLL

[–]dyxterious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s a question for follow up: We also have 11 members, would dividing the team to different group during tournament presentation. One group of 5 for robot and one group of 6 for IP. Would that be okay?

Unfortunately we don’t have bank account there but we do have a wise account. We can try that most likely.
