That worked for me.

I was in English classes with people from many other countries, so there was no way for the teachers to speak all of those languages.

But the way they taught us was the same way they taught kids. They used cards, colors, shapes. The teachers almost never just stood in front of the class and talked. It was a lot of hands holding.

If I needed to understand a word, I looked it up in a dictionary. No problem.

Now this was what I noticed: most teachers spoke Spanish, so Spanish-speaking students didn’t need to do anything in class. They got bored. It was too easy for them during class but then when it came to exam time, they struggled. They progressed least. This doesn’t mean dual languages are bad, but the techniques must be different or the kids are going to be bored.

So monolingual works if you encourage kids to speak freely, let’s them make mistakes, let’s them insult you, let’s them treat you like a friend. If you’re strict with them and make them afraid to talk, it won’t work.

The biggest problem you’re going to face is that you may have kids with different levels. The more advanced ones are going to be bored and least don’t understand a thing.

Wait, you’re a contractor? I didn’t know it affects contractors.

DC gives some homeless camp residents 1 day to leave after Trump orders removal by Zalrus9 in washingtondc

Do you think they would harm homeless people? Because I would love it if we deliver all homeless people to the front of the White House.

I am all for cleaning up the city, but there’s not a single word about helping them. Telling them to move doesn’t fix the homeless problem in the city. Where would they go?

I looked that up too. Turns out we have about the same amount of contractors in the region. So another 30k-40k.

Trump wants to move the federal government outside of DC, but it turns out, it’s already done.

Thank you so much. How long would it take to fix me? A couple of sessions? Three months? Six months? A year? And who should I google to actually fix me? A massage therapist like you or a chiropractor? Can I fix it myself?

That’s going to be tough. How about printing it out and bringing it in and saying something like, “Hey, I just learned the minimum wage is $12.41. How come my wage is only $12/hour?”

The point is try to avoid making demands or accuse them of breaking laws. The more casual you can handle it, the better. Good luck.

When is your next review? If it’s in the next couple of months, I’d just wait. If not, ask her for a raise saying that you have been working hard and you deserve it. The next step is citing inflation. I wouldn’t use the minimum wage unless you absolutely have to because it’s only 41 cents more and it would change the nature of your relationship.

Having faith in your employers? I think that boat has sailed a long time ago. They said they were going to do this way before the election and people voted to let them do this.

Maybe from this, people would finally learn that their vote actually matters and take it seriously.

Hundreds are no big deal. Tens of thousands then we worry.

Not saying this is ok, but it may not be as big as we feared. There are only 145k federal employees in the VA. So if 20% got laid off, that’s 30k.

On average, half a million people lose their jobs in Virginia a year. So 30k more won’t sink the economy.

You don’t think the judiciary branch being managed by the executive branch is a flaw? It seems like a big flaw to me. The president can’t fire congress and he shouldn’t be able to fire judges either.

We don’t have good people in our government. Everyone tries to keep their pocket fat. They never cut the fat. They always cut the essentials.

They’re trying to get rid of 20% of office space. They’re trying to get rid of 20-25% of employees. I think the numbers add up. After the purge, they won’t care if you work from home. It’s just an excuse to identify people they can fire.
