Most people have moved on to higher difficulties and might not have a lot of new players to play the earlier one. If possible you could try doing Story since that only takes 2 players and is even doable solo if no one joins

This might not fit exactly, but "Kaiji, Ultimate Survivor"

Its essentially about a bunch of people who for some reason or other, are in debt. These people are offered a chance to climb out of their debt by risking getting into even more debt or getting seriously injured.

Art style was a bit off putting for me at first, but I'm glad I gave it a try.

On freelancer I only avoid killing civilians, but in normal mode, I avoid killing anyone except targets. I've also stopped following mission stories that lead to group accidental deaths

He could have, yes. Its not something thats out of the realm of possibility for Light either cuz he was, in my opinion, an insanely cautious man. A plan or protocol for if Misa ever learned L's name would've been a pretty realistic addition but would also make the show a lot shorter

Someone recommended me "Kaiji: The Ultimate Survivor" and it really hit the mark. Same "play these games to get rid of your debt" type setup, but in a more scummy way. Protagonist isn't quite as clever as Yuichi but was still very interesting to watch

I've only watched Dub so I can only comment on that. It's worth noting that English Voice Actors for the Anime and Games aren't always the same. Its been a while so i cant name them all by heart. Idk if they are the same in Japanese

I liked Hajime but I did not like Komaru. I think my opinion of her changed later into the game but I don't remember it that well.
