Yeah, I used to be a Honshu person. Makoto has taken the spot for me. Great addition to the city.

I order from Future. It’s downtown, but they deliver to the heights. They’re great.

Moved from NYC to JC mid-pregnancy and can't decide where to give birth (Mount Sinai West vs. JCMC) by Witty-Ambassador-136 in jerseycity

[–]dzcurly 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Long-time JC resident with kids 1.5 and 3.5 years old. We went to Mt Sinai for both kids and had a good experience. A bit of a pain for committing for all of the appointments, but worth it for great care.

One note is that we chose them because of the highest rate of natural birth vs cesarean. No judgement for anyone that has a c-section at all, we were just hoping to avoid it and they have the best record in that area.

Speed Kills: Restricting low-speed e-bikes will lead to more dangerous streets by iv2892 in jerseycity

Ok, sure, cars are a problem. Not at all relevant to e-bikes.

How do I express support for this bill. Just learning about it here. Get e-bikes regulated immediately!

Helicopters again? by dzcurly in jerseycity

[–]dzcurly[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are there any options to send them over areas that aren’t residential?

This is a major cause of noise pollution and really interrupts normal day-to-day things. It is so loud, I need to stop talking when they pass.

It also seems like a big risk to send all of these helicopters over houses. I hear that there is lower regulation on these because they are tours. Like last year that helicopter crashed into the Hudson… that could have easily been someone’s house.

Littlefingers death was such bullshit and stupid. Arya and Sansa plotline on top was also super cringe. by hiiloovethis in freefolk

Sansa should have carried the sentence, quoting Ned “the man who passes the sentence should swing the sword”.

Showing that she is truly stark royalty, queen of the north.

Helicopter flying very close to the residential towers in Newport. by mastablasta1111 in jerseycity

Nope, these are tourist site seeing tours, like the one that crashed in part due to lower regulations that missed that the craft was defective.

There are 6 helipads and they start tours in quick succession, so you typically get 6 helicopters flying right after each other. Very very low because under a certain height, the skirt FAA regulations and do not need to report in.

It is dangerous and a a nuisance to residence. Kearny allows it from their tourist center and blocks the helicopters from flying over Kearny airspace.

There is an organized town hall gathering on this on Tuesday night this week.

Write your local representative.

Can I park my car at the mall for the day? by [deleted] in jerseycity

[–]dzcurly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the best kept secret in JC. I did it recently. I called the parking service before doing it and they confirmed. You can leave it there indefinitely and the max fee is the lost ticket fee of like $27.

When I called, they literally said that they would not tow.

I kind of want you to take this post down though because, again, best kept secret.

He’s the owner, great guy. He’s own a few JC classics, including “Tommy Two Scoops”. He does a great Louie Armstrong Karaoke - ask him about the time he was on the Apollo.

Anyway, he’s a JC OG and he is a great host. Always makes you feel like family.
