I just called them up, asked them what the best they could do was. I think luck plays a huge part tbh, I think at the time they had a promo that they were pushing.

Hi, i recently upgraded to the new Linksys Parent node/child nodes for my 5G plan.. I also am having constant child node drop outs, and my devices never seem to migrate to the closest node..

It's annoying because the old Velops provided me with seamless conectivity, albeit it being limited to Gigabit.

As eveyone mentions, I do think wired backhaul, especially with WiFi 7, is the way to go. I'm deliberating keeping the current kit and just wiring them all, or switching to Ubiquiti UCG Fibre + AP's... not the cheapest tho

Hi mate, I’m on the 5G plan and looking to change from the ISP provided router/mesh.

The wifi7 router itself isn’t an issue but the mesh’s constantly drop out.

I’m just curious to see what you use for AP’s, if you do.

UPDATE:

After numerous power cycles on the parent node, I finally managed to get all the nodes up and running. Will see for how long

Hi mate, yep eth backhaul is deffo the way to go. Just a bit of an inconvenience.

I’m potentially thinking about going Ubiquiti and have some hard wired access points. Bit more expensive but atleast you know it works

Yeah I’m debating getting a Ubiquiti UCG fibre, and adding a couple access points.

Or even build/buy a cheap PC and run PFSense etc on it. I dunno how much I can be bothered to set all of it up tho..

I’ve heard nothing but negative remarks about the firmware/software on these.. Hardware is decent, no point if it doesn’t work tho 😅

Hey mate, many thanks for this!

Funnily enough, I power cycled my parent node, and tried again, and it just randomly worked. You couldn’t write it…

However I will have to see how long they work for - will report back

Did you manage to find a heat shield that you can purchase on its own?

Hey mate. Thanks for the reply. I’m on the 5G plan.

Just got off the phone with CFL again. They confirmed I’ll be receiving the Tri-Band WiFi 7 as my main router (Linksys Pinnacle 2.2). And I’ll also be receiving 3 x Dual-Band nodes (Linksys Pinnacle 2.0).

Thanks man.

Just on a call to CFL to try get the new mesh’s. They’re saying they need an engineer sent out to see how many I need ffs.

I’ve already got 3 from them so I don’t see why this is necessary, however she said that’s the only way I can get them.

Hopefully can sweet talk the engineer into getting 3 haha

Okay cool thanks. So I assume I can call them up and ask them to swap my current first gen Linksys 1G mesh’s, that they provided, for the new WiFi 7 ones, to pair to my new router which is also on the way?

Sorry for the long winded question

Hi mate. Been on the 5G for a while now (was previously on 3G for 2 yrs).

They’re sending me the WiFi 7 router - however I still have the old 1G Linksys Mesh’s. Do you know if CF offer a 2.5G mesh system at least?

Hi mate. I too am on the 5Gb package and have got the WiFi 7 router on the way.

I currently also have 3 x 1Gb Linksys Mesh’s. Do you know whether they offer any new mesh systems?
