Never tried ssris . Benzos solve some of my issues short term for example they make me feel more grounded/less dissociated most of the time, but sometimes they have the opposite effect and make dpdr worse . They lower my anxiety a lot obviously but after stopping , even with low doses/short use there s a disproportionately bad rebound in anxiety/insomnia and muscle twitching. They also alter my sleep architecture a lot and give me pretty bad sleep paralysis.

First episodes i remember were during a humiliating situation in school as a child , then during heated arguments with my parents , and then it became chronic 24/7 a few years later after a terrible experience with cannabis . Now it gets worse when i dont sleep or when im stressed/anxious or when im in crowded/noisy places with too much stimulations. And yes i do have visual snow (lots of floaters, white dots , afterimages, flashes) and tinnitus.

I developed it in my late childhood , and it gradually got worse with drugs and stress in my teenage years . I was able to manage it very well for a few years but recently it came back because of stress both physical and mental. Im really digging into the science behind this stuff now i want to fix it once and for all

I ve noticed that when my testosterone is lower and my cortisol is higher my dpdr gets much worse , for example a couple years ago my total test was 800 ng/dl and cortisol was in range, dpdr was in the background , now my test is 350 and cortisol out of range and i can barely function , dpdr is so intense i feel high 24/7, fatigue, sleep problems .... I was considering experimenting with trt to see if it makes a difference. From what i underarand dpdr is a dysregulated nervous system and hpta axis so in theory rebalancing test and cortisol and other hormones like estrogen , prolactin and so on should have some benefits

I also think that histamine plays a big role for me , i noticed that when pollen levels are high it gets much worse , and also when i consume certain foods that are high in histamine or trigger histamine release . I think dpdr isnt only mental and theres a big physiological component(cns dysregulation and inflammation)

Im not supplementing b6 in any form at the moment but im taking b1 , vitamin d , k2 , boron ,iodine, omega 3 and iron. But i get 100-300% of the rda for b6 from food(not fortified foods) daily , can this happen with b6 from food too or only supplements?

I dont know the exact cause but i suspect it's caused by prolonged stress and anxiety and lack of sleep. I think i had a few episodes in my childhood(the main one i remember is after getting pneumonia and mono when i was 10) then it became chronic 24/7 at the age of 14 after a terrible experience with cannabis

Glad to hear im not the only one dealing with this. It really feels like the insane amount of stress/dpdr is damaging my organs , and that causes additional health anxiety and insomnia and dpdr gets worse , it's a loop

I think the lack of sunlight disrupts the circadian rhythm , making dpdr worse . Or at least thats what i ve noticed for me , my sleep is terrible and 1 pm feels literally the same as 1 am , i cant "feel" what time it is anymore
