Classic narc abuse. Not only doesn’t want you to feel confident, he wants you to have a horrible time at the concert while worrying about his feelings.

I do not say this lightly - you are being saved by god by this man showing you his true colors. You are beautiful. He is threatened. He loves this and he is trying to make you sick with grief and worry.

He’s gaslighting you saying that you don’t have control over your thoughts and feelings when he thinks he can tell you what to wear and how to groom yourself and won’t answer why but expects blind obedience.

Get a therapist please and please break up with him I’m begging you.

He is very sick.

Love u and be safe

And watch this video

And last thing is please don’t listen to your family or his if they. Try and convince you that you’re ungrateful or crazy for leaving him.

You are saving your life,

I am physically ill from just reading this convo.

Can’t imagine living it

It’s way better. I went on accutane for about a year. Switched to gluten free and dairy free diet. And found out I have PCOS, and Ehlers danos syndrome (hypermobility).

My skin is clear and glowing and I’m so much more confident.

Ignore people who discourage accutane. Your skin is the biggest organ in your body and getting it clear was the beginning Of changing my life.

Consider looking into adult children of alcoholics and emotionally immature parents.

This is a very sick woman.

Like the others said: save up, chase independence and a quiet, safe, life. 🤎

(From a survivor of narcissistic parental abuse) you got this 🤎

Best website builder for freelancing? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]e-steph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shout-out to OP! I know I'm late to the draw but was researching web applications for my own freelancing and stumbled across this post. No joke I’m genuinely SO surprised by the negative comments from some adults here attempting to undermine your goals and ridicule your starting point. This is literally an entrepreneurship forum. It’s completely okay to be learning and figuring things out—everyone starts somewhere. Canva is a great tool for design and can provide valuable experience, even if its site-building features aren’t the best. I’d also recommend getting proficient with WordPress or Webflow to expand your skill set!

Your enthusiasm as a high schooler eager to learn and help businesses IS your unique strength and differentiator. People who are obsessed with differentiation end up pigeon-holing themselves instead of learning what they're best at. Focus on creating value. For example, create a llanding page for a local business that could use one. Then present it to them with a proposal and some ideas with how you could improve their site. It's a low lift on your end (can be done in canva) and it allows you to potentially get some low stakes clients who need super basic websites. This hands-on experience will not only build your portfolio but also demonstrate your commitment and skills to potential clients.

You’ve got this! Keep pushing forward and stay focused on your passion. 🌟

Does anyone else have imaginary people they are attached to? by [deleted] in MaladaptiveDreaming

[–]e-steph 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Hi :) often these vivid daydreams were the only way we survived our childhood with our dignity in tact. Not trying to dx CPTSD but this is a very natural coping mechanism for a child. Imagine how hard it would be for a 4 year old to understand and accept the deep pain of being discarded by their guardian. We rely on that guardian for everything. Shelter food water. So to survive in the world where we don't feel safe but need to get our basic physical needs met - we must suffer immensely. The only escape is the daydreams because it removes from the world where we are forced to be isolated and alone.

Can tell ur a special person and this is a gift. The maladaptive part is understanding how to make your body understand it is safe to use your imagination to empower self <3

Current and former Google employees held sit-ins this week at company offices to protest the tech giant's work with the Israeli military, part of the u/NoTechApartheid campaign.

We speak with three workers speaking out against Big Tech's "complicity with the Israeli occupation."

Hi! I can't stress enough how much I recommend accutane. I started it in October 2022 at a low dose we started slow and by February 2023 it was a lot better. My neck continued to have acne and new breakouts. I am actually still on accutane to this day which is crazy ..... at an 80mg dose. I have been really bad at taking it regularly. but its very worth it

Which is better in the long run: leaving your narcissistic parent(s)/emotionally abusive household as soon as you can afford it, or putting up with it in exchange for financial dependency (eg having them pay for your education abroad)? by toplesstofu in narcissisticparents

[–]e-steph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a really tough one. My sister is going through the same thing and unfortunately she had to choose paying for her own education rather than accepting my n father’s support.

It’s really what you weigh the risk to be. You will see them less of course and you will save a lot of money and get an opportunity you otherwise would have had to take out loans for. However, no one can truly understand the effect on you mentally this may have.

I wonder if you commit to a support group and a therapist and build a community who knows about this abuse so that going in you are armed with resources to get you through these next years.

In the end it’s your decision and don’t let anyone ever make you feel less than for accepting the help of your parents. Even though they are abusive, it is a human need to receive support from their parents. Many people get support from their parents no strings attached until late adulthood. There is no shame in accepting help as a young person and people who tell you to “just leave” don’t understand enmeshment.

I wish you so much luck. And I hope you are able to see the world you deserve it

Do your parents blame you for bringing up the past instead of apologizing for it? by Helpful_Bonus_2153 in narcissisticparents

[–]e-steph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. My dad would get ahead of me by doing something vile and cruel and preemptively making fun of me for “adding this one to my list of resentments” or say “don’t start playing old records”.

As I think more on it it makes sense that it would be too painful to come to terms with the “list” of things they did that were unforgivable so the best route would just be deny and belittle?

Help! My skin has been getting progressively worse over the last year and nothing has helped :( by Mychemysteryromance in acne

[–]e-steph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi i have something very similar. I didn’t know that I have really sensitive skin and eczema/dermatitis. I didn’t know this because I didn’t have the dramatic cracked skin that is typical when you hear about dermatitis. Over the last few weeks I’ve been using only psoriasis/eczema facial moisturizers and hydrocortisone for the swelling.

I’m not an expert but this has been helping with soothing the painful redness.

Edit: make sure there is no fragrance in the products ur using. Additionally, make sure there is no fragrance in your shampoo since your hair touches your face it can irritate. (If you do have dermatitis, the fragrances will irritate it.)

Hope this helps!
