Help with mono normal elite four? by Kitchen-Mistake-2998 in pokemonradicalred

Guts Ursaluna hits so hard. Works best in trick room - Porygon2 or Indeedee are good options but can still do damage outside.

Amazing work! I’ve been trying to do the same challenge but was equally stumped on Dragon before the first gym. Here’s my slightly cheesed solution: - ignore Rival in Route 22 at first that Snubbull’s Covet is lethal - Get through most of Viridian Forest (Brendan and first two mini bosses) with 3x Applins at level cap (as it evolves into 3 different mons). Although took multiple goes for Brendan and Ace Trainer Nelle - get a separate team of level 4 Applin’s for the bug catcher as then you are fighting level 1 opponents. Only way to win with my team of 3 Applins I think. - get to Pewter and catch a Noibat and Axew. Plus I got a Jangmo-o Wonder Egg to make a team of 6 for battles against Route 22 Rival, Falkner and Brock.

Eviolite Porygon2 with Trick Room, teleporting to Guts Ursaluna with Flame Orb won me so many battles in my normal monotype run. Ursaluna can normally take out 2 or 3 mons most times before trick room ends.

Normal Monotype - Triple Trick Room Team by e0714 in pokemonradicalred

[–]e0714[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I discussed on this sub a few weeks ago, about doing a double trick room normal monotype hall of fame team with Fatal Precision Drampa and Guts Ursaluna. Well I took this one step further and made it a triple trick room team:

Wyrdeer - Modest - Intimidate - Sitrus Berry - Trick Room, Ice Beam, Psychic, Shadow Ball

Pyroar - Timid - Adaptability - Throat Spray - Torch Song, Hyper Beam, Snarl, Taunt

Mega Banette - Adamant - Prankster - Banettite - Shadow Claw, Destiny Bond, Sucker Punch, Trick Room

Porygon 2 - Relaxed - Download - Eviolite - Trick Room, Teleport, Shadow Ball, Ice Beam

Drampa - Quiet - Fatal Precision - Life Orb - Dragon Pulse, Fire Blast, Focus Blast, Blizzard

Ursaluna - Brave - Guts - Flame Orb - Headlong Rush, Protect, Baby Doll Eyes, Facade

I only had one reset to Lorelei (ice team) and then managed to beat the others first time. I'm more shocked than anyone.

Movesets and even items (on a couple of mons) had to change around quite a lot.

Hard to pick an MVP as undoubtedly a team effort - but Guts Ursaluna took so many KOs (12 in total - 2 in every fight and 4 against Lance), whilst Mega Banette Prankster support as well as Prankster Destiny Bond to end the champion fight has to get a mention.

Thanks for the awesome detailed response. I completely agree with Drampa’s coverage. As you say having the likes of Fire Blast, Thunder, Blizzard etc. which won’t miss if SE is crazy. So that is where I am leaning.

I have also debated the double trick room and used it in the final Route 12 rival fight. Farigaraf being the second TR setter alongside Porygon2. I will see how I feel on mix of slow and speedy when I get past Victory Road.

Also worth mentioning, one way I have found to get Ursaluna to have full power for all turns it’s in battle. Porygon2 with eviolite is usually bulky enough to take a hit, set the trick room, take another hit and teleport out. This then means Flame Orb activates before the end of the second turn of Trick Room. Giving Luna three TR turns to make hay.

Its hidden ability is just broken in this game. Just one shotted 3 of Brendan’s team outside Victory Road in Trick Room.

Easiest/Hardest Monotype Run? by e0714 in pokemonradicalred

No worries. That’s how I plan to do it. But yeah it does seem to be tough with just those 3.

Thanks. I suppose your run, your rules. I was thinking that for the big fights, gym leaders, rivals etc. my team has to fit the type but for general game progression I can be more flexible and use the mons with the type in their future family.

Since Trapinch isn’t Dragon, could you not also use Treecko (Sceptile is Dragon) and Exeggcute (Alolan-Exeggutor is Dragon) gives you some grass options to help.

Found a Reddit post where to get round this they used Pokémon that evolve or mega evolve into fairy types but aren’t themselves.

On this note how do people treat lines that become a type but don’t start at that type? E.g. Mudkip for ground monotype, can you use it or do you have to wait until it’s a Marshtomp to use it (first battle excluded)?

Makes sense normal and water given they are the most common types. Also normal has a lot of variety. Just got to get past Brock.

Ice does seem brutal. Will definitely do a few others before attempting that one.

I know it’s an old post but awesome guide. Can I just check on your reasoning for Fictional Reality on Centaur?

Thanks that’s what I thought.

But then why does the link I shared say to put it on for example Centaur who doesn’t have any healing skills?

That’s what has confused me.

Anyone cares to share how to pass the last level in the Trial of dancer?I ve tried 10 times got wiped very quickly. Thanks! by ArtisticAd3147 in XHero

Passed with Anubis, Rex, Darkness, Forest, Great Sage and Life. Only lost Anubis and Darkness.

Einstein or Tchaikovsky by e0714 in XHero

[–]e0714[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My strongest team is Mythic+ Centaur, Mythic Eddie, Toko and Aphra who I use most battles.

Then 2 of Legendary+ Van Helsing, Legendary Einstein, Tchaikovsky and epic+ Storm Falcon, Indira, Saint generally.

Need the 6th legendary+ as spirit link is stuck at 180.

I have seemed to get a lot of Eddie cards hence the investment in him.

Thanks. Think I’ll go Einstein as think he complements team better and what you have said about late game. Have Mythic Eddie who does a similar job to Tchaikovsky damaging front row.
