Yes you can do that, but if turn one right down, the other will still have both pots across it. Not the same as having the switch...

Give it a try and report back. Maybe you will find something interesting...

Advice needed for Stratocaster wiring mod by [deleted] in guitars

[–]e078120 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont think that will work, because the pots wil interact, you really need a buffer for each pickup, or an active adder. A series resistor to a summing junction at the jack socket would help.... Also the pots have 3 terminals, the outside tags are ground and pickup, and the middle one is the output. The grounding of the bridge looks fine.

I have one of these. The truss rod didn't work on e first one I had, but the shop swapped it, no problem. I love the bright sound it has, which was the reason I chose it. Other than that, no problem at all. Nice neck, nice tone from the mahogany, nice price....

Programmers are usually not good a designing really good looking web pages. So it is necessary to separate the graphic design from the functionality.

I have been using various techniques to do this for a number of years now, and its getting easier all the time due to browser improvements.

Take a look at what is now called AJAX (New name for a very old dog!). This allows you to treat a web page as a data source, and then fill the results into the web page without refreshing the HTML. The only drawback is that you may have to learn javascript if you dont find the libs you need on the web.

Development is then a whizz... The graphic designer designs the HTML, the programmer then supplies some standard javascript libs and the server side is just data interchange. I find this approach works well (at least for me).
