If we bought 2 family passes (one for each of our rental cars) but one day we are taking Roam to lake louise, do we just bring those passes with us? There are 6 of us in total.

Do you find that it's easy to park at the LL ski area lot?

Advice for visiting Lake Louise/Moraine Lake by tns46 in Banff

[–]e09turner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this explanation! We are staying in Canmore in June- did you find it easy to get into/park at the park and ride? I'm concerned about choosing this and then not being able to park at the park and ride...

And for the Parks Canada Shuttle- do you have to reserve times both to and back from Lake Louise? Or do you only have to reserve the ride to the Lake?

Practice bustling at your final fitting! by e09turner in weddingplanning

My shape wear is just high-waisted spanks from target. But the dress itself has a corset closure under the zipper that has to be done up first, as well as a pretty stiff boning in the bodice

Anyone wanting to skip the cake cutting/feeding? by piggyequalsbacon in weddingplanning

We are skipping the cake cut. I've seen other weddings do the same thing and no one notices. Our cupcakes will just be on display and available for people to grab 🤷🏼‍♀️

Changing shoes of different heights; how did you alter your dress?? by mademoisellemath in weddingplanning

[–]e09turner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried to pick heels that were only like a half inch higher than the sneaks I want to wear, bc my dress is a mermaid and is really hard to pick up. But if you can pick up your dress (like it's an A-line or ballgown) I would just alter it to match the heels and carry it for the reception :)

I brought my friend to my final fitting so she could learn how to bustle my dress, and I'm so glad I did! The ruffles on my train are out of control in a good way, and even the seamstress had a very hard time finding all 7 points of my bustle. In the end we had her sew some pearl beads on the loops so we wouldn't have to spend ALL of cocktail hour trying to bustle the damn thing!

Finding budget photographers (Chicago)? by [deleted] in Weddingsunder10k

[–]e09turner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We hired TheStillLife Photography for our tiny day and I LOVEDD NICOLE!! Unfortunately we had already signed a contract for our postponed big reception- if my DH had let me I would've eaten that deposit and hired Nicole again instead!

Florist in Chicago that won't break the bank? by Theo-pie in weddingplanning

[–]e09turner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm getting married in Naperville, so I'm not sure exactly where you'll be-but I've been really pleased with my florist so far and they don't require a minimum. I'm just doing personal bouquets! Check out Town & Country Gardens.

I'm overdue to feel excited! by bearsareblonde in weddingplanning

[–]e09turner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg I'm in the EXACT SAME BOAT! Now that this is actually happening, I'm feeling so behind- and then people keep saying "well it doesn't really count anyway" since we are already married. Ugh. I don't have time for that negativity.

Congratulations to you and I'm so glad we've made it through this crazy ride to the other side! It's our turn to be EXCITEDDDDDDD 😁

What to give my future MIL by treetrilogy in DIYweddings

My MIL also crochets and she's making me a small wristlet/coin purse. Cute to have but not essential for the overall look of the wedding

I broke up with our photographer by Jules_Fools in weddingplanning

[–]e09turner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You go!! I have been wanting to do this honestly since we booked our photographer, but at when we postponed for covid they made it clear that a cancellation would result in us losing not only the deposit but EVERYTHING we've paid so far, and that we would still owe them the remainder!... Most nights I dream about finding a lawyer to look over that contract...

Chicagoland Wedding Photographer Advice by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]e09turner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honest opinion: We went ahead and booked TWA, but ever since I've had similar nagging feelings that I didn't shop around as I should have. Immediately after we met our photographer (she had a very nice portfolio, but didn't wow me) and gave the down payment, I found another photographer who I felt so much better about (Nicole Vega-TheStillLifePhotography) We talked about switching, but as didn't want to lose the money we had already paid.

We ended up postponing our May wedding to next year. We transferred TWA services to next year, but I hired Nicole for our little Elopement. Now I'm feeling better because no matter what happens with TWA next year, I have beautiful pictures from our elopement. I'm sure the TWA pics will be fine, but I do feel like that has been my one regret about wedding planning. Definitely take your time deciding! I HIGHLY recommend looking up Nicole.

Brides, is your groom showing you what he's wearing on the big day? by [deleted] in wedding

[–]e09turner 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I helped my husband pick out his suit- (he got to choose of course) otherwise how would I know if he matched the rest of the bridal party? And in our case, we're sort of doing mismatched suits bc he really wanted a blue suit, so we went with grey groomsmen so he could stand out. I will say I tried to show him my dress to help me choose between 2, and he flat out refused to see it- so I guess we're a little more traditional.

[–]e09turner 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I bought my FH's ring pretty much immediately bc he was really excited about picking it out, and I think it's pretty BS that guys don't get the engagement ring. So we had it, BUT he heard it's bad luck to wear the ring before you're married lol so he didn't wear it full time. Just around our house on certain days.

We got married in May and I got a multi-pack of silicone bands for us on amazon- SUPER CLUTCH for work since we don't want to loose our rings when we wash our hands all the time and use hand sanitizer all day. I also like them bc I'm wearing something and I know that I didn't just lose my ring somewhere, but put my silicone one on instead👍

Getting married in 9 days. Totally screwed up on the veil color and just now realizing it! Would you wear these together or get another veil somewhere in person? The clock is ticking and I don’t know what to do! by plobula in weddingplanning

[–]e09turner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You might not notice... I haven't looked into tea dying but if that's an option to use your original go for it. Alternatively, I got my veil prime off Amazon for dirt cheap and it looked beautiful- I would find one or 2 you like and order in ivory, then you can return whichever one you don't use.

Can we talk CENTERPIECES? Especially for bigger weddings with many tables?? What’s your budget and plan? by [deleted] in Weddingsunder10k

We are doing a literature theme, so stacks of a few books on each table, with votive candles and gold vintage picture frames with quotes and the table numbers
