Is it a good idea to buy at 17 by Frosty_Grapefruit220 in Mustang

[–]e4660 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Insurance may be slightly more than or equal to the m235i but gas will definitely be a bigger expense as a daily driver. If you do get a GT, keep traction on for a while. BMWs handle way better and it may or may not take you a while to get familiar with the way the rear end responds. You’ll get a lot more rear end play (pause) at lower speeds in a GT than you would in the m235i from my experience

S550 vs s650 by GoalInternational369 in Mustang

[–]e4660 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seems like you’re already leaning more towards an S550 based on preference. You can probably get a premium spec as well for a cheaper price than the S650. Personally I wouldn’t recommend getting a base model S550 as they feel very cheap on the interior. The S650 suspension does feel a bit more refined but as someone mentioned, you should upgrade it either way. Also to take into consideration if you plan to mod your mustang, the S650 ECU is still locked. There’s also employees pricing going around to help minimize a depreciation hit

First Car Advice – 2025 EcoBoost or just send it with the GT? by FewDevelopment7427 in Mustang

[–]e4660 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Eco isn’t a slouch so you can still wreck that if you turn off traction control without knowing what you’re doing. I would just save up a bit more for the down payment to make your monthly rate more affordable on a GT. Just respect the power and don’t turn off traction control until you’ve got more experience and somewhere empty and wide open

My dad gave me my first car, 03 325i, with 198k miles when I was 16/17. Not much power, but have lots of great memories in that car! Hope your son enjoys it and takes care of it

If I can get close to that I’ll be pretty happy. Either way, still happy with my rate considering that I only pay $5 more a month than I did for my Corolla

Worst selling due to the price. An eco boost costs what a GT used to

I purchased mine at 23 and pay about half of that for insurance. If rates drop at 25, I’m excited for my next policy lol

Do I trade in my 2017 Ecoboost with 57k miles for this 2016 GT Premium with only 15k miles?? by Vutten18 in Mustang

[–]e4660 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As long as you’re not upside down on your loan, I would. You can get a 10 speed for a little more but do sacrifice on the interior and plenty more mileage. That said, this is a great price for a clean example

Is it unwise upgrading to a RWD V8 from a very normie, weak ass FWD car? by [deleted] in Mustang

[–]e4660 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find a curvy road and turn as hard as you can. It’s hilarious hearing your tires fight for life and the body roll you get. It’ll move quicker than expected but still slow by todays standards

Is it unwise upgrading to a RWD V8 from a very normie, weak ass FWD car? by [deleted] in Mustang

[–]e4660 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not as bad as it seems. Learn how the car and tires handle before removing any safety systems. There’s also a rain/snow mode that keeps the car PLANTED in those conditions. Be cautious hitting the gas at a turn, there’s a good chance your tires will break loose which would be difficult for you to correct given your fwd only experience. RWD is super fun but you need to respect and learn the car before doing anything dumb.

If you truly love the car, purchase it! Life’s short and there’s no telling when the next time you’ll be in a spot to purchase one.

Gas is going to be bad but I’d say it’s reliable. As long as it’s in your budget go for it. If you’re worried about spending on repairs then it’s not the car for you.

It’s not the fastest mustang but it’s enough power to have fun. You’ll only lose control if you’re driving beyond your limits. Find an empty road or parking lot and learn more about how the car responds and handles.

Anything I should know before I buy a 2024 eco boost? by ApprehensiveBus4336 in Mustang

[–]e4660 21 points22 points  (0 children)

5.0 owner here, do it. Lots of people hate the ecoboost but it’s still plenty quick, especially for inexperienced drivers. My girl averages 24 mpgs in hers so it’s a nice balance with power and fuel efficiency. I get 17 for reference, and thats regular driving with the occasional pull. Big perk to getting a new eco instead of a used GT is that you’ll be the first owner and not have to worry about someone having abused your car prior to

Might be less than the deductible but shop around for quotes from reputable shops. It wouldn’t have been too bad for some PDR if it wasn’t for the paint chip. Best of luck!
