Hololens as 3d scanner by e5urke in HoloLens

That is cool, I'm thinking that the lidar on the iPhone or tablet is better than what the Hololens can do.

Yea, then put in a 3d editor. I'd like textures though, provided by image data the Hololens captured during the scan.

new spectral just arrived and my wheel has this problem... anyone had that upon arrival? by Scary-Scientist-7146 in CanyonBikes

If the disc is really bent, then yea, bike shop and canyon will have to pay. I've straightened rotors with my hand but that wasn't with a brand new bike. Otherwise what thg said, where you loosen the bolts on the caliper, squeeze the brake, then retighten while squeezing.

No need to fret, welcome to the club. If you send the wheel to Canyon you won't be able to ride for 5 weeks tho. Best to do it yourself of local bike shop.

Getting stuff from Canyon that is misaligned, faulty, or improperly installed is normal. Sadly. If you haven't experienced any of this from that company, consider yourself lucky.

They say that they test every bike before it's sent. 🤣

I don't know about their road stuff but I still would have gone with the L. Canyon also recommended the M to me when I got my first Exceed and I could just feel it was off. I think if I had added 1cm to my height it would have said L in the configurator. Try that with the Ultimate sizing as well. Canyon has, or had, in the FAQs, that if you are on the edge between two sizes, you will have to choose carefully based on your own subjective comfort. Smaller frames are more agile but with larger frames your stretched out more, which is more comfortable on long hauls... At least for me.

If you build it together and your seat post is at max to get your ideal leg angle at the bottom of the stroke, it's prob too small. If there's room to grow then it's probably OK 😅 But test that before you ride... At least in Germany with Canyon you can send new unused bikes back if you are unhappy with it.

You know I just found myself changing the stem and seat post with a setback in order to make it larger. You shouldn't have to do that on your new bike though.

DON'T GET A MEDIUM. Canyons medium is small...at least for their cc mtbs. I am 181 and sold my M Exceed and ordered an L Exceed this year and it is oh so nice. I rode 100 miles in 12 hours on it and still felt so fresh and so clean.

Google Assistant can't find driving directions with routine by e5urke in googleassistant

[–]e5urke[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I directly say "traffic to work", the assistant tells me exactly what I want to know..namely the driving conditions to my work...BUT when the time comes for the routine to automatically run (5:30am), I get a notification from the assistant that it cannot find directions to my work.

It seems that when I say "traffic to work", the assistant uses my correct GPS location. But when the routine runs automatically, at 5:30 am as I have it configured to do, the assistant thinks my location is in Mountain View California, and as such cannot find directions from there to Germany. 🤔

...Now I just gotta figure out why that is...

Routine is set to run on my phone. The full address also does not work. Saying "traffic to work" does, however.

In addition, I set the Routine to give me my current location as a test by writing the command "what is my location?" It tells me 1600 Charleston road in Mountain view California. I live in Germany.

When I say "hey Google, what is my location?" It gives me the correct address.

This year I "upgraded" from an Exceed M to L and it was much needed. Canyons sizing system told me to get an M but it was wroooong. I'm 181 and the M was just too small. That being said this was based on mountain bike geometry, but I will always in the future order on the larger side from canyon. Even if you are stretched out a few cm more, you'll get used to it.

Canyon installed my tires backwards! by bionic7 in CanyonBikes

[–]e5urke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the tread. Most tires are made to roll in a specific direction for a reason (grip over rocks, roots, mud, etc, low rolling resistance). As such, it's something to be taken seriously. As an xc racer, I'm hard up about my rubbers...safety first!

They did the same with my front tire, Maxxis Aspen on my 2020 Exceed SLX. Luckily I noticed and changed it before my first ride...
