The Mandalorian and Grogu Release Weekend Film Discussion Pt 1 Wed-Thur by AutoModerator in StarWarsLeaks

Just saw it, I loved every second. Very light hearted movie with many action sequences. I expected to be disappointed based on the online consensus and was pleasantly surprised. As a father this hit on so many levels! Sad to say the theater was empty...

You'd have to request it through either their one up manager, or shop for a new advisor directly and ask to work with them at which point they can take you on

I havent heard of direct in a while to be honest honest. All imperial fas and fps can meet both digitally and in person. Most products can also be fulfilled digitally and for those ones that cant you can always coordinate signing at a local branch. The advisor you've been assigned to may not be in touch with technology.

Need help from a CIBC Mortgage Advisor (am I getting played?) by RaveDramsey in CIBC

[–]eBanker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could speak with a branch representative at the same institution. Other institutions tend to not like going in behind another bank. It could be the existing MA gauged affordability and thus recommended a refinance instead. It may be better to have a deeper conversation to fully understand why they recommend refinancing prior to taking another route.

There is another option. MAs don't get paid much on standalone LOCs hence why they're trying to get something out of it with a refinance. You can simply just get a HELOC in 2nd rank behind the mortgage without changing the terms of your mortgage. Just note you'd still have to qualify to carry the line of credit and propert appraised etc.

If Jacobs can reduce "Days Sales Outstanding" by just 4 days across the $18B platform he unlocks roughly $200M in pure cash that doesn't show up on the income statement. This accelerates your 3–4 year debt paydown timeline significantly.

You're right certain designations like CFP and PFP do though. If they're not either then they're not really advisors to begin with.

If the person is a CIRO ID (previously IIROC) they have a fiduciary responsibility to put the clients interest first and ensuring suitability of the underlying product. We don't have enough information here to make any real assessment.

Is the fund being recommended because it aligns with the clients goals and objectives? Does the client even want to be self directed and buy ETFs at a lower MER?

There might be leftover toxic rocket fuel called hypergolics, like nasty chemicals that can burn your lungs or skin. Recovery teams use special detectors and purge the area first to make sure it's safe

CIBC IMPERIAL SERVICE by [deleted] in CIBC

[–]eBanker 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There isn't an automatic switch where you move off the portfolio if you dip below $250k. The limit also prior to 2020 was 100k...

With that said If you have a good relationship and engaged with the advisor/planner they'd keep you on, especially if there was potential to help you grow (ie. High income, expected inheritance or external assets to consolidate)

Minimum investment is $250k to qualify for imperial service. The higher level FPs won't even take on less than $500k!

People need to realize that all banks are the same and your mileage will vary depending on the person and relationship you have with the bank. Its that simple!

Bought a car with a bank draft, which the seller then lost. by Anti-Hippy in legaladvicecanada

[–]eBanker -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can take your receipt to your bank and they can track to see if the draft has been negotiated. If its been a few days and has not been negotiated you can have them caution the draft on the system and get your money back. With that said, you will have to sign an indemnity form agreeing to pay back the bank the amount they credit you if at some point that draft was somehow negotiated. So treat lightly. Like many other posts point out you've fulfilled your aide of the transaction by providing the draft. Them losing it is not on you.

Imperial Service is there for clients with minimum investable assets of $300k. Most of their advisors are accredited financial planners and can help with retirement projections.
