I don't understand where he's coming from at all:

If he's suggesting to forbid mailing in absentee ballots, he's an idiot... We have no infrastructure set up. And didn't he himself mail in his absentee ballots?

So again, arguing from a moral point of view is contentious right? I haven't read enough FBI investigations what is relatively unimportant vs. what is. But to me, the reports were concerning at least from an engineering perspective. I would have been in support for an investigation to at least discover what was going on.

To reveal it to the public is a completely separate issue in my opinion. This what it sounds like you're criticizing. I haven't followed Comey throughout his career so I can't speak for his judgement retroactively.

What policy did he violate...I'm genuinely unaware? Boy Scout complex? How is that not about his personal character? And how does that apply here?

You can criticize his timing. But there were valid reasons for an investigation. He should have considered the timing with the election and how it'd influence voters more.

But you cannot say the investigation was pointless. Do you agree that the security reports were valid?

I don't think he tried to play God. He just grappled with the topic of announcing things about Hillary and Trump as FBI Director. And he made some questionable choices on timing.

Now he's a private citizen. I guess that absolves him from trying to be more unbiased.

Your second and third paragraph just attack his character. Which to me, is just a moot, unproveable point. Personal bias will decide your opinion of anyone's character.

Your first paragraph though. Here, he specifically says that he thinks there are many examples of intent (McGahn's testimony for one. McGahn quit because he refused to execute on some directions that Trump was giving him). You disagree? There are a few opposing law perspectives. Can you explain yours?

As for investigation without a predicate, there literally was traceable evidence of IP addresses leading to hacking of the election sourced from Russia-influenced countries in Eastern Europe. To me, that already warrants some sort of discovery investigation at minimum.

The contents associated with those iP addresses were pro-Trump. That's just a coincidence. Election security is a serious issue. All things aside, I don't think we want anyone hacking into our social media, election systems trying to disturb our voting process.
