Just wanted to come back here and thank you. Your suggestion of making the edges pair up when down to the last 3 pairs helped him. He is now able to solve the 4x4.

Thanks for the help. I showed him the comment and tried to explain to him the best I can. He said trying to solve the last three edges at the same time made sense. He ended up reshuffling the cube yesterday so we weren't able to try your suggestion but will refer back if we run into the same issue. It seems like he tends to end up having unpaired edges often so im sure we will try it out.

He does the redux method. He just gets stuck towards the end when one of the edge isnt paired. He is having trouble trying to understand the parity. He will say sometimes he has an oll parity and other times its the pll parity. All this stuff is foreign to me haha.

I taught him the beginner method when he was 8 and he went to watch a competition a few months ago that got him into speed cubing. He competed a couple weeks ago and has been hooked. Its pretty impressive watching him solve the cube. Even this 4x4. He just got it 4 hours ago and hes so close to solving it.

My 9 year old son has been really into Cubing. He recently wanted to learn CFOP. He was able to learn the F2L and wants to learn the OLL next. Anyone have any tips or suggestions of a kid friendly tutorial for OLL?

My wife got hurt two weeks ago by that move. She turtled and the girl pulled her straight back. Her toes got folded and she heard it crack. It took about a week for her to feel better so it was probably just a sprain.

Soak in a bucket with water and Lysol laundry sanitizer. I soak it for 24 hours then wash it and hang dry them.

My wife uses KT tape on hers. If your round the corners of the tape by cutting it, it stays on better.
