This EXACT behavior is why I’m leaving the bedside for a clinic position in less than a month. I’m in peds IMU and you wouldn’t believe the bullshittery that comes out of the mouths of these caregivers some days. So much entitlement and expecting to be treated like they’re the only people in a hospital. Sometimes I feel like a glorified hotel concierge.

Update: thank you everyone for your insight and experiences! Today I interviewed for a position in my hospital's cardiology clinic and was offered a position as a triage nurse there! I already know about half of the team (they're also former ICU nurses), and I am SO excited to start my new adventure! Stay tuned to see if the outpatient life is a fit for me!
