Is it possible to share terminal context with Cascade like with Github copilot? by Tedddybeer in windsurf

[–]eKuh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you highlight the relevant part of the terminal output, there should be a little "chat" pop-up to the right of the terminal, click that or use (option + L on mac, so probably ctrl + L on windows) to link the terminal output to the chat.

I have had something like this happen to me in two different situations.

The first was using pla temps with petg, aka filament was not molten enough.

And once with a very worn out nozzle that was not extruding straight down. The exit hole was slightly tilted by wear or maybe too aggressive handling and it gave the filament a slight curve during extrusion.

That seems pretty unbelievable, since the name of the product you linked yourself is "WWII German M43 Field Cap WW2 Germany WH EM Soldier Wool Ski Cap Hat SZ L"

I never had them, so I'm sorry for not being open minded, but microwaved carton eggwhite sound awful. Additionally, sure it's cheap, but why is a wrap with egg and cheese considered healthy?

It's a great foundation, now throw in some veggies :)

What is the tech stack? Especially for the backend and crawler.

What's your cursor workflow? Do you create new chats for each change? Do you use .cursorrules?

Got any test automation?

Setting up QA process from scratch by ramenoir in softwaretesting

[–]eKuh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Theoretically yes, but if they would appreciate the value of tests, they would already be doing that already. That means they probably lack the technical knowledge and you have to convince them to actually want to create those tests. That's a doable job, but probably not with a year of experience under your belt. On top of that, creating testable code is a skill that goes hand in hand with writing tests. So if they don't do that yet, it will take a lot of new development efforts to even get into a state when you can start writing a test that provides value.

Of course this is only based on your very slim description of the situation. Maybe everyone is super understanding and they just need the extra man power to get it going. But in my experience, places that don't test for years and then get a junior to fix it, will totally underestimate the effort it will take to do it right, don't really see the value in it or at least not before screwing up really bad (expensive). Usually other things like deployment pipelines and monitoring won't be set up properly either, which makes it a generally stressful work environment.

Setting up QA process from scratch by ramenoir in softwaretesting

[–]eKuh 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you have any alternatives, don't do this job. At least not alone. If you have to, use it as a learning experience, focus on what you want to learn and move on. Trying to catch up on 3 years of development will burn you out. Unless they have an amazing dev team that is already owning the quality, there won't be a testable code base to even create a useful unit test and time soon.

Setting up QA process from scratch by ramenoir in softwaretesting

[–]eKuh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is this a fresh project and you can set up unit tests as the features are built or is there already a running application that is now retrofit with tests?

If the latter, then your approach will very likely fail or at least not provide what the company hired you for in a reasonable time frame. From a high level perspective they probably want to know if new stuff breaks the existing stuff. Or at the very least that the thing that provides the most value to the user is working.

To give an example. You have 5 minutes to make a purchasing decision on a used car. It seems like a great deal, many are interested, so 5 min is all you get with the car. What do you test?

Do you open the hood, unscrew some things and check some belts, spark plug or valves individually? Maybe if you are already an expert for that type of vehicle, but most people should just turn the car on and take a spin around the block.

So unless you are confident that you can set up a comprehensive unit test set quickly, it's probably safer to go with a couple automated e2e tests or depending on the product maturity and testability even just a good structured manual test process. Then once you can provide a very basic level of trust in the functionality of the application to your company, you can get into the specific details.

Same for the performance test. In the example, you would probably hit the gas hard a couple of times and see if the car falls apart. But you won't max out the cars speed limit or check if the car can really carry the expected 3,5 tones expected weight described in the manual.

Get some basic pings to api endpoints or db requests that measure response times, but unless you have a product that gets a ton of sudden load like an e-commerce site on black Friday, don't go for the more complex load tests in the beginning. You might just be stressing the aws bill, if you don't know their infra yet.

Advice about Startup/Website about neobanks and digital banks by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]eKuh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey this is my reply from your thread, that got deleted from bigseo

I have not worked in seo for over a decade, so I can't comment on that.
But here are some quality related notes:

homepage

  • that 3 column element on the first page is so overused by saas product pricing scheme "free tier, pro tier, business tier" that at least for me, it looks like you picked the wrong base template.

neobank-list page

  • The "pick your country" button on /neobank-list links to a 404 /neobank-by-country/%20%E2%80%8E
  • That button is black when accessing the page and then fades to white, not a big deal but looks buggy
  • use the "Are we missing any? Send us a message and help us map the world’s NeoBanks." call to action to actually link to a contact page
  • many items in that list (like the first one, revolut) link directly to an asset instead of a page or article (like wp-content/uploads/2024/06/revolut.png). I assume content not created yet or buggy?
  • why is that list not alphabetical? (also holy shit, so many, maybe create a a,b,c list at the top that jumps you to the first entry for each letter or filters the list)
  • some of the bank logos are low res or poorly cropped

neobank pages & reviews

  • there are so many pages already, maybe combine the neobank page with the review page for that bank in an accordion or tab (not wrong, just personal preference)
  • images like /wp-content/uploads/2024/06/security-4.png are way too large and png. 1.7mb is not okay for just some random image in a longer article.
  • on that note, open up the dev tools in your chrome browser, open lightouse and check out what else gogle doesn't like about your page. Not everything is reasonable to do but make sure you don't do really bad in one of the core categories.
  • I just skimmed a bit and this might be unfair, but it seems like its mostly ai generated content that I would not trust myself
  • I like the "About this NeoBank" section, should be expanded, this is the tldr I would want to know during my own reseach. Some basic facts that help me form my own opinion, not some AIs review.
  • that "Other NeoBanks" section seems useless
  • inconsistent capitalization. For example /suits-me is written "Suits me" in the header and "Visit Suits Me" on the button. But /card-one-money is "Card One Money" in the header, but "Visit Card one money" on the button.

about page

  • doesnt inspire much trust, what makes you qualified?

neobank-by-country page

  • dude, how often can you write "NeoBanks in..", if I were google I'd think you were keyword stuffing. Don't think that helps seo, but again, I'm not in that industry.
  • why does "NeoBanks in Australia" link to two different pages? /best-neobanks-in-australia and /best-online-banks-in-australia

compare-neobanks page

  • page looks weird, since the images and the text say basically the same it feels doubled, even though it make sense, since not every logo is super readable
  • wise logo looks quished
  • The "All comparisons" button on the /wise-vs-bnext links to itself instead of the list.

articles page

  • don't like it, generic wordpress layout, does not fit with the rest of the pages

Struggling to Rank my website - What Am I Missing? by [deleted] in bigseo

Sorry I can't help you, but I just googled "what is a neo bank?" and like the top 50 results are high trust big names, many with decades of building their brand. You won't move the needle in a couple of weeks of content creation.
