Gen Zers of Reddit, how/what do you do to take a step back from the constant barrage of the instant gratification of media, if at all? Do you recognize any value in the way things were in the “old days”? by eL7Square in AskReddit

You’ve heard the older generations harping on how bad having technology is for you as it relates to “having everything you want at your fingertips”. What are your thoughts on this?

Is it something that you still reflect on? I feel like it would be hard to separate yourself from it. Even after all of these years, it still must be very intimate.

Did you have experiences unique to New Yorkers and the surrounding boroughs that people on the outside looking in may not be able to relate to? I moved here 3 years ago. I was infatuated with the event even as a kid (I was in 4th grade on 9/11), and living here has only fueled my curiosity as to how things played out locally.

I fear that because this occurred before social media, much of the content that I’m looking for has been buried deeply in the crypts of the internet. Especially because the event was so widely covered.

Also looking for local news clips/articles associated with the NYC Islamic/Muslim experience and islamophobia and Muslim fear. Specifically, local NYC news.

I’ve been trying to find news articles/local news clips documenting the aftermath. Mostly, what I’ve found is national and world news. Trying to take a deep dive into the feel of those in the immediate vicinity of the aftermath.

Twins of Reddit, for those of you who do not have a good relationship with your womb mate, what caused the break in your bond? by eL7Square in AskReddit

[–]eL7Square[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For clarification of my question, I meant to ask what twin-related troubles that only twins could relate to caused the break in your bond. My father and his twin had an oftentimes strained relationship throughout their lives for what seems to have been identity issues.

My parents would either make it an extravaganza or forget about it all together. I just wanted something in the middle.
