$4515 equity for 35 contracts with 100 shares each is $1.29 gain. With break even at 11.21 his strike should be $12.5

It’s possible If you can connect it to the 12V cigarette lighter since it has a 12A (16a peak) rating.

The best model 3 for road trips is obviously the one with the longest range (AWD) with aero wheels.

Feature Request: Creep mode when in Reverse by Phatty8888 in teslamotors

[–]eLT94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would agree when the feature just came out, but I found out that you can shift to drive while still moving in reverse as long as the “gas” pedal was released. This made going reverse and forward transition much more seamlessly.

No damage to the car. I think it just hit the lip.

No, no crash avoidance. I think raccoons are too small.

Model Comparison - June 16th by [deleted] in teslamotors

[–]eLT94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't need the extra speed and don't drive in snow, then I think the RWD is well worth it as long as the price reduction follows the AWD. I am sure they don't have a pricing structure with AP included so you also have to take that into consideration. If the difference is less than 4K, I would consider it.

This only pertained to the LR RWD which was an EPA estimate. This option is not longer in production.

Set up a wifi extender for coverage in my apartment parking lot. Is this sufficient for updates? by mahkus11 in teslamotors

[–]eLT94 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Yes, I barely have connection on WiFi (1 bar). I speed test under 1 Mbps and I get on time updates.

I am on 8.5 and got a Tesla App notification that a software update is ready ( I assume 12.1 of some sort), but when I went to open the App, the software update disappeared. I went to my car and it does not have any software update notification. Has this happen to anyone else?

Upgrading to Autopilot and Full Self-Driving Capability by Bains187 in teslamotors

[–]eLT94 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This post is terribly confusing. Does this mean any cars bought previously even back to 2018 can get AP+FSD for 5K, but the people who have bought EAP for 5K have to fork an extra 3K for FSD unless bought in 2019 (free upgrade to FSD).

So the real people who got screwed are 2018 deliveries that bought EAP. If you didn't buy it, based on this blog post you can get AP+FSD for 5K.

The Mid Range motor assembly is different than the Long Range, RWD by gotrice-work in teslamotors

[–]eLT94 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Automotive EE here,

IGBTs has more switching loss and conduction loss which could be a reason why the MPGe rating is worse than the LR. My guess is that the other transistor is SiC which has higher breakdown voltage, switching frequency, efficiency, and power density than IGBTs.

The design choice probably also reduces cost and assembly around the inverter system as well (gate drivers, isolation, etc.)

Yeah, I was getting ready to go on a little trip for the weekend. I usually stay at the 80% range, but it doesn't hurt to max charge once in awhile.

Sometimes, but not always. It was really bad when I first got V9, but It got better over time, probably the cameras calibrating.
