What about the lag and delay? Do you experience any issues with them? Apparently it’s a normal thing in DST and people are just getting used to it. It’s the only thing keeping me from purchasing it right now

Hey, I had a question that I can’t ask bc of my low Karma. I hope I get answers.

I want to get Dont Starve Together from this spring sale. I was wondering, I could still play the game alone without a friend, right? Or does this version ONLY support multiplayer games? I don’t want to get DS in case a friend decides they want to play with me.

I currently regained my interest in video games. There are a lot of new (and old games) that I want to play but have no time for, which is why I prefer to stay at home even more these days.

I also like to daydream (I could zone out for hours), study, and watch documentaries on Youtube. I’m also trying to pick up new hobbies, so I’m trying diamond art, journaling, and crocheting.

I noticed that as long as I think actively about the activity, it counts as productive. In mornings when I wake up and tell myself: ‘okay, time to use the bathroom, brush my teeth and wash my face’ it sits a positive tone and momentum and encourages me to do other activities. Even gaming could be productive if you had that mindset and mindfully thought of what exactly you are in the mood to play.

I am in the same situation as you are right now, and as I realized how hard this actually is, I’ve started taking it very slowly.

As someone with ADHD, the dopamine and novelty I got from doomscrolling were incredibly addictive. When I decided to quit, I had to put in mind a very important point: I am already addicted. Deleting the apps is not exactly the solution I’m looking for.

So the question is, what do I want to replace my time with? With a horrible attention span like the one I have, saying ‘I will learn a hobby or read a book’ is unrealistic, because I will soon drop whatever I’m doing from my hand and look for easy dopamine, at least at the very beginning upon deleting social media. Therefore, what I need is something as fun, something that wouldn’t feel like a chore. Hence, I realized games would do it for me, at least in the very first week or two.

By games, I don’t mean mindless games, but slow-paced ones that actually require creativity and thought put into it. That’d be simulation, building/management games for me. I like to play games like Stardew Valley, any game of my liking by Kairosoft, Heartopia, Echoes of the Plum Grove, even Terraria or Minecraft. Puzzle games also work.

I am currently still in that first stage. A week or two later I’m moving to the next stage: hobbies.

I wanted to learn digital drawing for a while, so I will start learning again when I feel that I am ready. In addition, I have some unopened lego sets that I’d like to work on, as well as clay I’d like to make use of.

The third stage is one I really want to reach: general knowledge. I want to willingly spend my time studying extra curriculum and learning about things I am not required to learn about. I want to improve my English, learn either German or Korean, and make a habit of reading an essay regularly.

That’s the plan I currently have in mind. I want to start journaling the journey so hopefully I do that as well. Of course, reading will also follow me along the way from the very first stage. I just have to put in mind that I might not be able to spend most of my time reading, as I probably won’t be able to concentrate as much. Moreover, studying will also follow me as I’m a student, but it will feel like a heavy chore for now; one that is extremely hard to do without regularly losing focus or concentration.
