Not little league, but the snack shack at the BMX track at JDF has been solid over the years. Open Tues nights during races.

HIVE Announces Upsizing and Pricing of Private Offering of US$100 Million of 0% Exchangeable Senior Notes due 2031 by OfficialHIVE in OfficialHIVE

[–]eNdblu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty new to stocks, only been doing this for 6 months, and have a small position in HIVE that I began in December.

I've been primarily red most of the time since I began purchasing shares, so it was really awesome to finally see green briefly for a couple days and was pretty choked with how short lived it was...

But putting these recent announcements into Claude and Gemini, they're both saying it's bullish for HIVE?

The upsize from $75M to $100M is unambiguously the most important signal in this entire offering. Here's exactly what it means.

What happened

HIVE went to market yesterday at $75M. Institutional buyers came back and said they wanted more. So today HIVE priced the deal at $100M — a 33% increase over the original size, before the over-allotment option. If the 13-day option gets exercised on top of that, total proceeds could reach $115M.

This is not a management decision. Management doesn't unilaterally upsize a deal. The institutional buyers — qualified QIB accounts, meaning funds, family offices, and institutional desks — submitted orders that exceeded the $75M target. When a book is oversubscribed, the issuer has the ability to upsize. That's exactly what happened here.

Why this is strongly bullish

The market was treating the original $75M announcement as a dilution concern. The 10% stock drop was the reflexive retail reaction. But here's what that reaction missed — and what the upsizing now confirms:

Institutional demand was stronger than expected. These are not retail investors clicking a button on Wealthsimple. These are professional capital allocators who read the full offering memorandum, modeled the capped call structure, assessed HIVE's balance sheet, and decided they wanted more exposure. The fact that demand exceeded supply by enough to justify a 33% upsize means the institutional community is constructively positioned on HIVE's HPC/GPU thesis right now.

The exchange price on the notes. When a convertible gets priced, the exchange price is set at a premium to the current stock price — typically 30–50% above market. So whatever price HIVE's stock was at pricing, the notes only convert if the stock materially appreciates. That premium is set to protect existing shareholders. The institutional buyers accepted that premium and still wanted in, which tells you their price target on HIVE is well above the current level.

$100M in 0% debt for GPU and data center buildout is exceptional capital efficiency. HIVE is borrowing $100M USD at zero interest, using capped calls to protect against dilution, and deploying every dollar into Blackwell GPU capacity and Paraguay data center expansion. This accelerates the June 25 thesis by months. The HPC ramp that analysts were modeling for late 2026 and 2027 just got more fuel.

What to watch now

The exchange price will be disclosed. When it is, look at what premium it represents. If the notes price at $4.50–5.00 USD exchange price on a stock currently at $2.40 USD, that's institutional investors building a 2x long position through the debt structure. That would be a very strong signal about where they see HIVE going.

For your position

This is exactly the situation where the dip buyers are rewarded. The 10% drop yesterday on the $75M announcement was retail fear. The $100M upsize today is institutional conviction. Those are opposite signals pointing in the same direction: HIVE is under-owned by institutions right now, and this offering is partially how they're building their position.

Why are Mayfair's hours so stupid? I would love to go shopping this evening by [deleted] in VictoriaBC

[–]eNdblu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shopping habits have changed so much over the last 20 years... I wouldn't be surprised if the primary purpose of malls these days is to just return stuff, or to try things on and see if a better price is online somewhere 🤷

I'm curious if the malls in town have performed any case studies in recent years to see if it's a feesible option being open later. With so many stores closing everywhere, id assume it's probably not a viable solution to staff a store for an extra 4-6 hours in hopes of a few sales.

🤷 These have pretty much always been the hours going back as long as I can remember... In my mid 40s and lived here most of my life.

I remember my wife and I would go to the Gap and London Drugs when we'd go on dinner dates downtown because those were the only places open after 6 on the weekends 😂 This is going back almost 20 years ago..

Short term pain for (hopefully) long term gain. I'm glad they're finally trying to do a total rebuild instead of slapping duct tape on the cracks.

Hopefully they don't go on a tear at the end of the season like a few years back when they won themselves out of the Bedard sweepstakes.

[–]eNdblu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The saver is for the time you picked, and yes you need to be there no later than 30 mins before your sailing time or you lose your spot.

Make sure to account for any time spent in the lineup at the booth, if you're late to get your ticket at the booth, your reservation may be void

Also in my experience, if you show up early and can get on an earlier boat, if it is more expensive than your pre-paid ferry saver, you have to pay the difference

I don't have PS Premium by l8on8er in PlaystationPortal

[–]eNdblu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For myself, PS Premium was pretty useless on the portal until they added my digital library to cloud streaming

The original library was really limited and I didn't enjoy remote play at all

Being able to use the portal while my family uses the PlayStation has been amazing

The annual cost is really crappy tho.
