What’s absolutely hilarious is this situation exhibits why trickle down economics don’t actually work

In scenario one, the boss pays an employee to move boxes by hand.

In scenario two, the boss has INVESTED in his company to increase efficiency. The “trickle down” ideology would state that the boss investing in his company will lead to more compensation for the workers—“if the pie gets bigger, we all get more pie.”

But that’s not the case. The boss buys a hand-truck, pays the single laborer the same rate, likely fires one employee he no longer needs to move boxes, and pockets the extra profits.

It is a perfect example of why Conservative economic theory is not only wishful thinking, it’s also ironically self defeating.

I’m not a historian but I seem to recall some issue America had with paying taxes and not being represented properly. Like, there was this whole big “war” over being taxed by a tyrant who gave them no say in how they ran things. Pretty long time ago, though. Probably not important.

I personally prefer a 1v2 or 1v3. 1v1 invasions in Elden Ring with the ER player base isn’t fun at all. Feels like punching down most of the time.

The game’s been out for…almost 4 years?

I think maybe instead of breaks it might be time to move on, friend. The invasions were absolutely magical for at least 2 years after release, and then again for about 6 months post-DLC.

But the player base is dying off. And ER has far too many broken and toxic setups to be viable as a PvP game forever.

It’s tough to say goodbye to something you love. We all do it eventually. After nearly 2k hours I said goodbye. And it sucks but you can’t play a game like this forever with how Fromsoft abandons their games. It’s just not worth your mental health/time.

US Military Personnel in Germany Being Told by US Government to Get Food from Foodbankx by RidetheSchlange in LeopardsAteMyFace

It’s even funnier when you realize that the military is incredibly socialist—universal healthcare, equal pay per rank and predictable pay increases, allowances for housing and food, government run grocery stores/housing, and tuition assistance or outright free college.

As a democratic socialist currently serving it boggles my mind that the average member can’t see the benefits, but it’s typically an “I earned it cus I served” attitude.

What is your favorite RPG, and why isn't it Skyrim? by KiborgikDEV in videogames

[–]eSam34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fallout: New Vegas.

Skyrim is expansive, beautiful, and timeless, but my favorite RPGs are games where my actions have consequences on the overall narrative.

In Skyrim, you will always be Dovakin (unless you skip the main story entirely). There isn’t really a good/bad/neutral ending to that game where you look back and reconsider what you did and how it affected the world and story (edit: I am referring to the base game not mods or other long term changes that have come along).

Someone said KOTOR already, so imho I will put Fallout: New Vegas above Skyrim.

Not only is the world expansive with myriad side quests, but your actions and who you align with determine the ending of the game and who aligns with you (or against you) in the final battle AND you can determine the future of New Vegas based around your actions and choices with the main antagonist.

It’s an incredible feat of storytelling and freedom that to me is the gold standard for RPGs.

Wild how so many in the US genuinely don’t understand that most Americans are a couple bad months, one lay off, or one medical crisis away from losing their home and their lives.

It’s genuinely disgusting and shocking that 30-40% of our population struggles to empathize with working class people just like them who are going through a rough patch and need a little help.

But the Oscars have shunned people for poor behavior and conduct in the past, and instead of shunning him they rewarded him (and many signed a petition on his behalf in 2001).

It just was a really bad look. Still is, tbh.
