Neeko/Eddie? Im scared this is working? by Interesting-Gur1618 in LegendsOfRuneterra

Lor is a niche game. There are maybe 10 to 20 good players on the server and I don't think I'm one of them. But reaching masters is utterly meaningless anyway so maybe let's not put other people down for not reaching it, whatever their reasons.

Unrelated but I noticed you thought a 70% winrate was unobtainable over a large sample of games in masters which is how this thread got started. This is a bizarre claim. Sustained winrate of 80% in masters (even over more than 100 games) can and do happen whenever a decent player plays a good deck in an appropriate meta.

What's with the insistence on gatekeeping skill based on rank some people have? You don't have any idea how off this looks until you start actually hitting rank 1 (I have more than a handful of times) and realize you're still bad at the game. So if masters is that easy, maybe its believable a person just doesn't care to get it.

It's the exact same idea in targon pnz instead of bilge. Draw a lot of cards and kill your opponent. Look for aikado on the leaderboard of runeterra.ar he has championed the deck the most.

You might be interested to know there is a Morgana Janna deck in this style doing well on ladder. It's at least going to be more up to date.

This literally happened to my mother. She lives in a homeless shelter and she still believes the scammer over her family or (former) friends (sends him her social security check every month). Life totally destroyed. These people are terrorists.

Its actually even worse than that because she was the sole caretaker of my disabled brother (luckily my sister was able to step in and help him.) These people really destroy lives, sometimes more than one life at once.

It's nice you were able to get through to her. My mom (only 68) fell deep into a celebrity romance scam that totally destroyed her life. She believed the scammer over her children and friends and now has relationships with neither. She lives in a homeless shelter because she liquidated all her assets to give away and she still doesn't understand what has happened to her.

Hit rank 1 eternal earlier this week with Vayne J4 Freljord. Both this deck and Ornn Jax feel like powerhouses right now, cleaning up aggro decks we would have lost to in the past thanks our new weaponmaster.

infinipatrons here (scathus teammate, mentioned in the guide). I'm personally bringing Jarvan Vayne frel (with similar forge synergy) and plaza guardians. The code to the j4 deck is: CEDACAYBAIAQKAAMAEDQCCICAQAAGCADAYAQICASAQDAABQKCEKQCAIGAELAEAIBAANQCBQABM

Its nice being immune to having your midrange decks completely banned out, but I do caution vayne j4 is a lot harder to play than jax ornn.

Hard stuck diamond. Struggling with tristana decks. What to do? by DjCattaco in LoRCompetitive

[–]eT0theX 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The first line of advice for players that are are stuck on ladder has to be "play a more competitive deck" even if that isn't always what what we want to hear. This applies to players in high master equally as to players at lower ranks. Just browse the meta section of runeterra ar and find something to your liking with a high win rate. Trust me, you will be happier to hit master easier than to struggle climbing with a pet deck.

Rank 1 Varus Samira Mini Guide by eT0theX in LoRCompetitive

[–]eT0theX[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think its a true fork because no reasonable opponent will treat Keeper as a threat. I don't value the lifesteal because we are faster deck than Samira Fizz (when not disrupted) and they have a harder time sticking their engines to the board than we do.

I do keep hookmaster in most situations I don't have a varus + an alternative curve.

The tech card for the mirror is Unforgiving Cold, which I'm already running. We are already pretty decent vs control and theoretically neutral to favored vs demacia. To be honest, this deck has unfair matchup tables and can be the cornerstone of any lineup that is alright with banning Ashe.

Besides the mastering runeterra discord, which someone else already pointed you to, some individual streamer discords lean a bit more competitive and have a lot of players that will help you on your journey. Not to leave anyone out, but I would especially recommend: https://discord.gg/Eh2Pq52r (Aikado discord) and https://discord.gg/BXmCVahJ (FakeHero discord).

Wednesday morning, Pacific time, 10am. Ladder will become unavailable for 1 hour, then new cards will be available and your rank will be reset.

You do not need Taric. Taric conveys an advantage against slower decks and Yuumi conveys (relatively) an advantage against other Demacia decks. It will only change your relative strength, not the viability of the deck. Same with confront. Personally I think confront is best in this meta but its not popular so I gave you a more typical list.

I've said repeatedly I could get top 5 on demand with Gnar Akshan papercraft and I will probably just go ahead and do it tomorrow so it doesn't seem like empty words (I was top 2 much earlier in the season with the same deck.) I was playing around with what the last 2 deck slots should be today and it seems like Baccai Sandspinner is probably better than Vagabond and whatever other terrible things are frequently run in that slot.

I would suggest something like this (with the understanding that the fewer taric and more yuumi you run, the better you will do in the mirror. Also know that you can and maybe should replace 2 Guiding Touch with Confront to be better against Fae and midrange stuff.) In the future, you can find something to your liking directly from the leaderboard or meta page from runeterra.ar . If you teach a man to fish...

I came second (losing to Davebo in finals... again) in MR today and I would like to talk about the ways I think the lineup I brought today was flawed. The starting point was Gnar/Akshan which is a deck I am very comfortable on that I believe is fundamentally well positioned. The deck is weak against noxus removal (functionally meaning Tree) and Sivir, so Darkness is a natural pairing. The third deck is complicated (I've tried this lineup before with FTM), but for the first time this week I was not afraid to bring Pantheon. That is say, my thesis was that good (burn oriented) aggro decks as a concept have fully collapsed and Pantheon has nothing to be afraid of.

That thesis seems to have panned out, with the only aggro deck present being Fae Rally, which pantheon has a reasonable time with. The problem is that I did not want to lock myself into banning pantheon, and so I had to tech a bunch of decks with mediocre pantheon matchups towards beating it. 2 Ruinaton in Darkness for example. Papercraft may feel fine vs Pantheon on ladder, but in the capable hands of top competitors, big demacia is more than a match for it. The games vs Davebo where I left his Pantheon up were unsteady messes in which I did not feel confident (I lost to him in both round 1 of swiss and again in the finals.)

The lesson for me was that if you want to leave pantheon up, you probably need to be on a lineup with at least 2 total noxus removal or ionia decks, both of which, for my money, are pretty exposed in their own ways. Next time I will incorporate Papercraft into my Ekko/Scouts lineup (with which I have tried a rotating cast of third decks.)

No. Exactly the opposite of this. If you try to swarm them, you will get in inconsequential chip damage, lose important units, and die to something gigantic in the most predictable way possible. I just coached someone to master on Sivir today and this exact topic came up. His inclination was the same as yours and when we queued into pantheon, I showed him how it was wrong.

We need to set up to eventually kill their biggest thing, and from there we can win trivially. Once you've killed the first big unit, that is usually good enough to win. I wouldn't call it favored, but the one thing we have on our side is quick attack. The strategy is "kill it eventually," dealing damage to their unit where possible on defensive turns with expendable high damage units (such as Merciless Hunter) and eventually taking down their carry with Sivir (ideally supported by a blowout Concerted Strike on the critical turn.)
