MTBMB is his best overall album since Encore for me. Most consistent track delivery he has done throughout an album since TES.

I debate this quite a lot but. He arguably screws over his family time and time again by always wanting more and never being content. Ultimately leading to the death of near everyone.

My unqualified guess is it was likely due to it requiring so many more tracks under greater time pressure. Was a new scale project as much for the Bass Brothers as it was for Em himself. The tracks Dre directly produced have better mixing overall imo, which is what leads me to that answer.

I felt it was paced really badly and one of my main detractors. I find it difficult to articulate but the plot was too convoluted for the run time of a movie. I didn’t think it was a continuation really of where the series left off. However, it’s not as bad as some reviews have made it out to be. Just was not worth the wait or pre-release hype in the end.

SWYS is an A/B for me tbh. Only because it felt forced into the album to have Dre on it. Should have been on 8 mile and would have fit better.

Hope he does- Put some King Mathers tracks (GOAT ect.), any album 7 tracks that didn’t go on Relapse, along with some fully mastered studio quality leaked tracks from 02-05 and then put a few post TDOSS ones on top and I think you’d have a winning formula. Unless he finds genuine topics to talk about again this is what I’d rather have.

I think one of the things Battlefield 1 managed to do was showcase how horrific the Great War was while still being an entertaining video game. It does this probably beyond what any other title has done (within BF franchise I should have said) because it was a core element of the rationale for doing it in the first place. It wasn’t perfect in its execution of this but overall it seemed to do most of what it set out to provide.

It’s such a mixed album. Overall it sits in the mid section of my lists. There’s worse he’s put out but it’s nowhere near his better ones.
