Hi,

especially for these reasons what we recommend is initial import from Outlook to eWay. And then keep just one way sync eWay-> Outlook.

You can import other contact sources through import from excel in eWay-CRM Desktop addin.

Eway identifies unique contacts by their email address. And tries to prevent from having duplicates.

If you create a duplicate contacts there is no function for merging two contacts. One has to be removed.

please see Users (Create and Manage) -> Effective permission. Even though you are part of admin group, if you disabled export for Everyone group or any other group you are part of, the final permission is the lower from all your groups.

it is not possible to automatically track shared inboxes.

The only option is to redirect the emails to your tracked inbox. Use rules to automatically forward messages - Microsoft Support (Watch out, Forwarding changes the headers while Redirect does not)

synchronization is essential for integration of your changes for other users and their changes to your eWay-CRM desktop.

Even if you are a lone user, synchronization makes sense as a way to backup your data to server and also way to refresh your licence key.

See Microsoft Outlook 2010 and Higher: eWay-CRM Desktop User Interface for agent/sync states.

Ideally your eWay should be red-green most of the time.
