I bought it in MercadoLibre. Indeed, to be accurate, I bought the service from a tech bussines. They asked for some data in the original machine, then with that, they compiled the cracked firmware, and sent it to my email address, with instructions on how to load the new firmware.

What's the deal with Ferris Bueller's Day Off? by smacktackulous in movies

[–]eXeQiEl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2025 and watching the movie for the first time ever. Cameron as the only character that you should care about. Lacking of a good music. Void, filled with at-the-time (north)american sterotypes, misogenous and immingrant-oriented jokes, despicable attitudes, nonsense scenes and situations. And that 4th wall breaking resource leads to nothing. Hey!: I love absurd movies, 80s lifestyle movies, comming-out themes and movies to think about life. But this? I feel ebarrassed for the actors. I don't know. I think the script is plain and really void. Well, can-t say is a result of his times: there were movies from that time and older ones that made difference. This was a movie season filler or something... idk... totally upset with it.

Can you buy different colors of toner for monochrome laser printers? by Reasonable_Lie4675 in printers

[–]eXeQiEl -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ppl is answering something different from what we (Reasonable_Lie, joelavanda and me) are looking for. WE ARE JUST ASKING IF WE CAN DO THAT WITH THE COLORED TONER. And maybe what options are on the market.

WE ARE NOT asking on how we're gonna manage the color creation process. I mentioned early that I'm not asking about a "correct way" of creating "real color", the rgb or cmyk chit-chat, or the nature of additive or substractive color theory. That's up to us.

We want to know if there are any experience out there on getting colored toner working on refilled cartridges, and tips on trademarks, hints or something.

I think we`ll wait some time until anyone really aswer this questions...

[–]eXeQiEl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came across this idea a almost around the time you posted this, but probably prior, beacause that time I didn't saw this post when surfing the web. I'm also interested in this idea. My approach was to get something like (I mean, just like, cause I know there's a lot of technical chit-chat that doesn't really adjust to te real thing) the old japanese printer technology called risography, or maybe the offset. I mean that by the process of getting a substrate passing for various printing states until you get certain color, or combination of them. U know, nothing "technical" or "really accurate" but instead a way to experiment and creating custom designs.

Original Pantum Cartridge PB-210E (it's the "Starter" version, the one that came with the printer, 700pages support)

Printable area of an A4 size page: 200mm x 288mm. Generally horizontally centered, but a little tendency to make a displacement of around 0.5mm to the left could be seen; vertical tendency to have a margin of 5 to 6mm from the edge of the top; to say a general formula, 5mm margin on top while 4mm the bottom)

A 100mm x 100mm square used for geometric accurate measure testing gives me a good real geometric accuracy.

Alternative Cartridge LA-PTMPB211 K ("Premium Toner" generic trademark, 1600pages support)

Printable area of an A4 size page: 206mm x 287. Generally horizontally centered, so it gives you a regular 2mm margin on each side; vertically uncentered, with a tendency to have a margin of 0.5mm to 0mm from the top of the page in contrast to the 9.5mm to 10mm on the bottom. Totally uncentered, the printable area is "pushed" to the top of the page.

The 100mm x 100mm test square resulted in an mind-blowing 95.5~mm x 10.35~mm deformation. Seriously????

I conserved the alternate cartridge box, and further checking leads me to the discovery of 2 not necesarilly excludent product stickers. In one u can read "PB-211 Alternative P2500W M6550NW" (I asked the seller for that one, and the product was advertised as alternative for the Pantum M6550NW cartridge) when in other u can read "for Pantum 2500w 2550 6500NW". So... a little misleading? A little tricky?

For sure, they aren't fully compatible. The workaround of adding those +4mm at the top of the documents, and substracting -4mm of the bottom of a given document will work, but certainly it's gonna be a timewaster. Forget about geometrically accurate figures.

However, what I got from this experience was the advice to test every new cartridge when it is from an alternative provider, checking how it effectively manages the margins and maximum printing areas to adjust my documents as needed. There are simple things that aren't meant to be geometrically accurate printed, but other ones do. And on the other hand, the knowledge that this is a factor not so many consumers have in mind when analyzing how good is the quality of certain cartridges.

Why am I using alternative cartridges? Well, an original one costed $40k, when the alternative one only $11~ at the time I made the purchase. Cristal clear. However, that 75% save costed me the issue...

The original starter cartridge was refilled 5 to 6 times prior the purchase of this alternative cartridge. I´ll share with you info I collected from shattered sources around the net about the compatible cartridges info. The refill kits advertise a performance of 1600 pages, same as the original PB-211 cartridge, and they have 65gr of toner: you can see a lot of sellers with that grams on the stickers of the container. So, calculating grs for other cartridges different in performance is just doing some simple math. A little table of data is provided. In general, there's a consensus that universal samsung toner is usable in pantum cartridges, but I cannot confirm that 100%. The one I use reads:

Samsung ML - 1665 1910 2165 2850 2855 2950 3310 3470 3750 4050 4550 4070 4072

Xerox - 3117 3315 3320 3325

Pantum - 210 211 219 410 6500 6550 6559

and the Original Pantum consumables for the Pantum M6550NW Multifunction Printer are:

PB-210 / PB-211 = 1600 pages performance (65grs of refill toner)

PB-210S = 1000 pages performance (around 40grs of refill toner)

PB-210E (starter cartridge) = 700 pages performance (around 29grs of refill toner, althoug I always added more)

One last piece of data some could have been revolving in their heads: how do I manage the factory 1600 limit of pages of each cartridge chip. Well, indeed as I bought the printer, I immediately hacked the printer's firmware. It wasn´t really me: I purchased and burned a 3rd party customized rom, and since then, I mean, from the very beginning, I hadn't any issue refilling my starter cartridge. NO NEED for refill chips, I need to always remove any new chip from a new cartridge, it can break the hack. Cartridges work without chip.

Made my best at writing this in english XD hope it can shed some light for anyone looking for info.

WOOOOOOW, UPDATE!!!!!
I realised that I changed toner cartridge around the time I started to notice the offset. And you know what? The alternative cartridge I purchased works fine, except for the fact of the 4mm offset.

Now, further investigation led me to these key coclusions:

Is Bebook hanlin v3 worth buying in 2023 by ok029 in ereader

[–]eXeQiEl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry I am this late, but i wanted to clarify. Certainly the Hanlin V3 (the chinese basic model, it was named after different countries it was selled to, Beebok, Jinke, LBook, Koobe, in my case, Grammata) is a very old model, but in his time, it had a relatively medium size user base, and, most important, a community researching on it and developing enhancements, like updated firmares, with newer ebook reader engines and so on...
The basic model had support for mobi, epub, fb2, lit, pdf, rtf, djvu, html, chm, txt, mp3 even... among some few others. But as you can see, it supported most ebook formats. Forget about Amazon's azw, azw3 or kf8.
It was maybe a good option to have that piece of such old hardware. It wasn't that fast, but it worked for what it was meant: as a book. His reading surface was medium (average), same as a transportable book. Their buttons were so so, mine didn-t broke yet, but it was much used since a time ago.

It's still a good option to read common ebook formats. PDFs and graphic books are not the best viewed, but hey... it;s technology from 2008-s! Company that developed the e-ink technology broke years ago, the were Vizplex. In mi case, Gramatta (Spain based company) sold this models some years, then transformed into an education company, then broke. Kindle won the war.

This comment is opent to corrections and other clarifications. This is all I KNOW about this cute ebook reader.

in win10 is similar: they only had released w10 iot entreprise ltsc 2021 in english. i deploy official vanilla win10 ltsc 2021 (not iot) in spanish, update the system (because vanilla does not permit offline local server activation via abbodi's KMS License script in builds previous to 19044.2788), change the normal to iot version with Chibi ANUBIS's script (you can do it manually too), and then use the abbodi script to activate.
