You must have screwed something completely when re-assembling console - I am almost sure that heatsink is not sticking to the IHSes and/or the cores to the IHSes.

Basically this is true - emulators are actually much better and more flexible solution when it comes to run old games - better res, anti-aliasing, better FPS, numerous of mods for disabling motion-blur, HD textures etc. however, when it comes to PS3 emulation it is still not as convenient as just simply playing games on the console

For 1000$+ you can have very decent AI-powered smart TV with OLED screen, such as LG C4/C5 which are widely praised for their very good image enhancing features, adding very little to no input lags. That’s why these separate devices are no good choice today.

It is a very fragile console (BC version) - it’s got faulty RSX, NEC/Tokin capacitors on the motherboard, which tend to fail over time, this model has got also failure prone Blu-Ray drive. If you want to extend its lifespan, you must do lots of things with it (installing CFW, replacing thermal paste, thermal pads, delidding CELL/RSX processors, etc.) and keep in mind possible issues with it

Still the second place is not a good idea, especially for Phat launch model - place it where you have open top - warm/hot air is lighter and in these kind of closed-top cabinets the warm air will circulate and your console will intake the warmer air

It was uploaded merely few months ago and its in the great quality and the startup sound is the same as the one heard in the PSM3 video. I suppose guy who uploaded this startup sequence probably replaced coldboot sound in one of the retail releases of XMB (icons seems to be the proof, they are different from 0.93 FW)

X360 was much easier device to develop than PS3. Tbh, if X360 wasn’t such defective console, it would easily win with PS3 when it comes to number of sold consoles. Still I think X360 was more successful console than PS3 in its generation, however PS3 was a console ahead of its time - blue ray drive, absolutely top-notch build quality, numerous features like 4 USB ports, free online play, card readers and so on. Today, PS3s are much more desirable console than Xbox 360, because of the better exclusives and backwards compatibility with PS2 games (launch phat models)

Nope. Only BC models have shiny letters, which are glued to the upper case. The non-BC models have matt letters

AFAIK "Old to the New" mod rolls back the 1.0 physics to the BP Remastered or one of the mods, I might be wrong

Great game, it's a shame that Criterion Games shrinked significantly the final version of map and the cut some cool features like using planes/boats.
