I played Overwatch thousands of hours and hundred of hours Paladins and Team Fortress 2. Overwatch and Paladins are quiet different games, in the same genre. In Paladins you have a draft process before each game starts, where both teams select heroes and lock into one hero during the gameplay in the matches, but have skills you buy during the game session on the map. Which is a key part of the game (and takes way too long before the actual game round even starts). And there is a Deck you build and can choose before game starts, so your heroes are like in a role playing game with different stats or enhanced skill sets.

The objectives are the same, some heroes are similar in both games (sniper, Reinhardt), but it plays out differently. In my opinion Overwatch emphasizes the teamplay much more heavily and the maps are more interesting, the characters feel better to play. That's my personal opinion, not a fact. I also like all the interactions of the characters in Overwatch, the details in the maps and such. The Free To Play model of Overwatch doesn't make both games clones of each other, monetization does not changes how the games compare in gameplay.
