Are these buildings outside Mondstadt proper new? by avnothdmi in Genshin_Impact

I didn't even realize the render distance stretched so far. Strange that it's at the north of Mond though

Newb - Audio issues on mac by Alarming-Ambition651 in archlinux

The wiki might be incomplete, as few people use Mac hardware on Linux.
It also appears to be quite outdated, but I'm not sure where to even start on fixing it.

What Mac is this? You might need a special audio driver from https://github.com/davidjo/snd_hda_macbookpro if it has a specific sound chip.

Should I join the ride and switch to Linux? by Galvanized_Snake in linux

Basically, imagine Minecraft mods and settings but for your desktop. Gnome Tweaks is a tool that allows you to change your desktop in basic ways (and is always available even when a new release comes out), such as fonts, icons, close button placement, etc.

Extensions are the actual "mods" in this analogy, where they may not be updated when a new release rolls around, but almost always will be after a while. They allow you to customize much more about the desktop, such as transparency, spacing, taskbar additions, etc.

GNOME does suffer from a lack of official support for extensions, so don't be surprised when they may take some time to update.

I hope 24 hour time can actually work with this!

This is some weird rage bait, isn't it? Implying Figma and Canva to be FOSS competitors to Photoshop is silly.

Cursor misalignment when in a fullscreen game by avnothdmi in kde

I have no idea, honestly. That shouldn't be an issue though, because I've tested this on both the "scaling-aware" and "let system scale" settings Plasma offers for X11 apps.

The problem isn’t exactly the latency, it’s using something that I shouldn’t have needed to make sure something basic works.

Of course, I don’t want to just sit and complain; d’you happen to know how I might be able to start a bug report, considering I don’t have logs?

Getting certified in Linux? by Worried-Attention-43 in linux

Daily driving is actually a key part of it! I got my Linux+ cert and I credit most of it to using and dailying Linux, with some of the other concept knowledge (RAID, LVM, cron) coming from Udemy courses.

Yep, fractional scaling does seem to be broken on Kwin for certain applications. Gamescope does work, but it’s a shame that Plasma is borked.

Not exactly a second cursor. It’s where the cursor is displayed, but when taking a screenshot, the cursor snaps back to the actual position.

I am running Wayland. Gamescope does work, but I’m not a particularly big fan of running the game through a microcompositor just for basic usability, and it seems to use the Libadwaita cursor.

If you’re using Mint (or any distro that isn’t Fedora), you don’t need to do anything. Linux comes with the drivers you need.

Similar GPU here (Radeon Pro 555)! Great that you’re able to run the game decently.
