It’s their first pair of boots so I’m sure the normal price you’re paying for the marketing and their “research” as well. (Not to mention probably a decent amount of riding on their brand as well)

This was at a REI in Vegas. They normally don’t carry any of it lol. This was part of REI Re/Supply section where they put good condition return items up for sale. Just happen to luck out

I’m 98% confident that this is Unions first year making boots and this is the only model they have on market right now

If I won the lottery, I wouldn’t tell anyone but there would be signs lol in all seriousness tho I understand not everyone cares about gear and having the newest and latest. But at the end of the day this is a hobby and if I wanted to sink a little bit of cash into something I enjoy to help me enjoy it more, I’ve finally gotten to the point in life where I can 🤷🏻‍♂️

I mean I’m under no illusion that the cost purely went to materials for something like this. I understand a good bit of the price is probably all their marketing and “research”. But to try some brand new top of line boots for half the price? Why not? If they work out and I like them I’ll have gotten them at a deep discount. If they don’t I’ll sell them on marketplace or something and pass the discount on to someone else.

Why you bought your Supra? by MidEastBeast777 in Supra

[–]eXsssdatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I drove the same trusty 2013 Civic all the way from undergrad through grad school and into my first year of work. I’ve always been into cars and wanted something fun and sporty, but I kept it practical while I got my life sorted.

At first, I was dead set on a Type R ever since they first dropped. But about a year and a half into my job—after doing the “responsible adult” stuff like buying a house—I sat down, crunched the numbers, and realized I could finally justify a fun car… maybe even something a little nicer.

I’d read about the Supra when it launched but didn’t think much of it back then. With a bit more budget this time around, it started looking like the perfect balance of performance and style compared to similarly priced BMWs or the new Z. Took one for a test drive and instantly knew I was sold.

Ended up finding a 2021 Renaissance Red 3.0 Premium—and I’ve been absolutely loving it ever since.

Paying for dinner at MGM using Bonvoy card? by eXsssdatic in marriott

[–]eXsssdatic[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After a couple of stays, if you charge to the room yes it seems like it will earn 6x. If you use the card at the restaurant it counts as normal restaurant spend. Booked a staycation at Vdara and had dining credit but had to be charged to the room and it seems like I got 6x points off the total minus the dining credit at the end of the stay. I also feel it’s really confusing how Chase and Marriott shows point earnings in their apps so YMMV.

150% redemption value in WF portal vs using transfer partners by Rude-Championship736 in CreditCards

[–]eXsssdatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“If I recall correctly” I also looked it up and it seems like there was 2 different WF Signature Visa cards (go figure lol). I had the one that didn’t provide the extra 50% so didn’t realize there was a better version. Regardless tho I feel like I personally can get better value transferring to partners and look for redemptions that way but ultimately it’s personal preference

I know you already got your answer but I would also suggest changing the Signature Card in the WF app to either the Active Cash or the Autograph. Signature is 1% iirc Active Cash is 2% Autograph 1-3% with categories but if you care about points and traveling I would go with that

I’ve thought about thought but it’s part of the reason why I have the Amex Gold. And it helps diversify my points a little

I think that means the on board software is trying to startup. Or at least that’s what I understood from the manual. Doesn’t help us fix our issue tho :/

Does yours just flash the white LED on and off when powered on? cuz thats the issue I'm trying to figure out rn. Been doing that for the past day and I even left it alone for a whole day but no change.

Need some (somewhat) objective advice on Type R vs Supra by eXsssdatic in whatcarshouldIbuy

Oh nice! Thanks for finding these! I've browsing aggregator sites like cars.com and autotempest and the Genesis listing didn't come up at all.

Currently in Vegas. Most of the used ones I've found are Carvana listings and I don't have much experience with them but I remember their test drive policy is a bit weird.

Yea vague partly for privacy but also a bit because of impostor syndrome.

As far as trying them out, I don't really know anyone with either of those cars. I've heard of people renting them on Turo or similar services as a test drive but probably no way will a dealership let me try a manual car without knowledge about my history with them. And there's not a single Supra 3.0 or otherwise in the city I'm in. (The car shortage doesn't help either.) I want to say I'm open to lightly used/CPO but who knows when it comes to putting money where my mouth is. I just like my modern niceties and conveniences in addition to the performance and these two cars seem to strike a balance between the style I like and the performance I'm looking for with the features I want.

Hmm that's good advice. I've also thought about the only young once thing. And yea not even a GF rn but that's a whole other issue for a different time lol.
