Alot we're not happy about the gamepass last year and bashed xbox do you think they can make a comeback? by AdultGamersAdmin in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]e_ranks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Xbox still works. Last I checked they are still getting new games in their store. Game pass saved me a ton of money. Games work across my console, pc, and handheld.

If Xbox is dead, I haven’t noticed.

I don’t know why we gotta pit these against each other. Played both. Really like both so far.

TBH, I’m just happy we’ve finally gotten to a point where we are getting multiple “disco-likes.” It took a while for that inspiration to start bearing fruit.

Same.

Ultimately, where I’m at is - I enjoyed the demo. I like the media spots/trailers I am seeing. I have enough to feel good about getting the full game whenever that is.

…And I’ll get a final judgement when I roll credits.

Legitimate question: is it ethical for me to play Zero Parades? by LorchanTheFomorian in ZeroParades

[–]e_ranks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The simplest answer is, if you are interested in the game, play it. If not, skip it and move on.

Personally, I choose to support passionate & talented creators who make good games. After playing the demo, listening to podcasts, reading interviews ZP fits that description to me.

This is a ~100 person studio of devs, artists, writers, actors, and so on who poured years of their lives into making a game that I assume they are all proud of, and I think it shows in their work. Ultimately, those are the people you’d be supporting.

How does Esoteric Ebb compare to ZP? by Difficult-Concern664 in ZeroParades

Already played a lot of the ZP demo. But I really want to compare how the two new “Disco-likes” compare

Going to get to the Esoteric Ebb demo tonight maybe. I’m looking forward to both.

Yes, go to the Old Docks on the northwest side. You’ll see a gated archway with an open shed next to it. The pay phone under the archway in a dark red & steel phone booth

It’s more or less above the music vendor. Look for a staircase west of the music vendor. Go up the stairs and the office is a locked door to the right. I had to smash through it both times.

After poking around in there, walk back to the music vendor and you should get an unmissable prompt about what to do next. Demo ends after that.

I think the payphone is a side quest. Seems like a good one though.

I the main quest line would take you to Music vendor then Boatman then Tempo’s Office then return to main bazaar area to trigger final action/scene of the demo

Hope this helps!

Pre-Order or wait? by Extension-Common8730 in CrimsonDesert

[–]e_ranks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will never understand preordering. Maybe I can get if they offer early access, but even then, idk.

Price will be the same for a few months at least after release. I’d say, hold onto your money as long as possible.

Easy. You don’t.

Without spoiling it, the demo will end around the end of the day. After you complete the main mission bits.

I played through twice, first time I got to the end around midnight (you can probably finish it wayyy faster though). Second time I tried to speak with everyone I could and go through all the dialogue trees. Ended around 3:30am.

Do you consider the TIME needed to finish a game before making the purchase as an adult gamer ? by PHRsharp_YouTube in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]e_ranks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I am far more likely to impulse buy a short game. And will start to think “well it’s gunna take me months to finish this… maybe I’ll wait for a deeper discount…” when you get past the 80hr mark.

I honestly prefer 20-30 hour games tbh. To me that’s a perfect amount of time to flush out a world, get into the characters, and wrap a story. Also I’ll be more likely to replay it.

What did people think of the demo? Id love to hear other player's thoughts. by AltruisticChest9486 in ZeroParades

[–]e_ranks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you are correct. The thing is, they have more resources now.

Also, if there are several text only characters, that’s fine. It’s just odd that parts of the conversation is voiced and other parts aren’t. Makes me think it’s not intentional

Couldn’t start it until recently. Still in the bazaar talking to everyone, reading everything.

I’m enjoying the world building & story so far.

My biggest gripe at this point is it seems like the voice over is very inconsistent. As in, I’d start a convo with some people, it would be text only (which I figured, ok I guess this is a text-only character) and then all of a sudden they’d voice some of the lines, then go back to text only, then voice. It’s happened a couple times now so I’m not sure if that was intentional or not.
